The new pump replaced an older digital control Hayward pump. The connections were the same, so all I had to do was shim it up 1/2†with vibration pads from Amazon, and wire it up. Programming was easy, after reading the directions, and it works really well. Also, I saved a lot of money not having to buy a direct replacement.

Product is very similar to my original Hayward SP2707X10 (which lasted about ten years). Note: - input port height is the same, but output side (top) is about two inches shorter (closer to ground) so some replumbing was required for me. Good news is union's match (two are also included). Filter basket from my original unit (SP2707X10) will not fit- so no spare : (. Electrical is the same - so just take picture and rewire the same way.One big negative is the electrical cover (back end of electric motor) has two fasteners. These fasten to two die cast metal posts on the housing. The lower one on mine broke off when I was tightening it. How can a cast part break off from the force of a fastener being tighted with a hand held screw driver?? This was my final step in my install - so I am not going to return it and trust the one fastener to hold the cover on (it slides on as a sleeve and is self supporting). Hayward needs to address this issue....good luck 😉

The pump control for this unit allows you to set up pump speeds for 3 time periods over a 24 hr period. You can not program the length of the periods. The big problem is that whenever you shut the pump off and the back on it starts at the beginning off the first programmed time period. This is a problem if you want specific speeds during any given time in the day. For example, if you want to set it to run at a very low speed or off during the night. I did not install the pump so cannot comment on how well it functions.Also, the return shipping cost is deducted from the refund. There is no place that it says this. Amazon is working to help get this resolved for me.

Hope it'll run my barracuda suction cleaner. Pump arrived, i called haywards customer support line. wanted to make sure it would run my barracuda. pool is around 7' deep. she finally suggested i call amazon. i said call them and i'd get someone in india or ? so told her i'd install and return if won't work. I'll update this after installed

This pump replaced a single speed hayward 2.0HP pump. Definitely worth the price. It is much more efficient and at lower speeds also much quieter. I should have upgraded sooner. It’s also lighter and accommodating of 1.5†and 2.0†PVC in a single fitting.

It did not take me, an average DIYer, long to install this pump, and it has been running great for several months. I saved at least $2k doing the installation myself. Plus, I was able to upgrade my mount, electrical, and plumbing.
