I bought one several years ago for my well pump heating lamp. Still working. Turns on when needed and off when not needed. Got one for my chicken coop water tank. Works like a charm...no frozen water tanks. Very handy item...lasts a long time.

keeps areas from freezing and causing damage. I use them in well tank areas and utility rooms. only turn on when too cold. beats trying to maintain a lightbulb.

We occasionally get some cold temperatures and have to run heat lamps to keep our water from freezing and the temperature settings on these are correct at 38 so the light actually kicks on and keeps your water from everything about freezing and then when it's warmed up enough it shuts off so it saves electricity it's a great little device I'm quite happy about it. It will save on the electric bill and that helps a lot

I have a really small heater in the bay of my RV to ensure that nothing freezes in the winter. This helps to regulate on when the heater comes on.

Does not work. I would have returned it but 30 days expired before we had weather that was appropriate for a test. It activates at the lower temperature range but does not stay on, it only comes on intermittently every 15 minutes or so for about 15 seconds. CAUTION.

As many have noted, the thermostat is horizontally oriented thus making it difficult to install in a covered outlet box. Rather than use a 2-prong extender that would poke the HEATIT out of the outlet cover, I have opted to place the HEATIT inside the well house (fake rock) on an extension cord and then plugged in the heat lamp. Three comments about that:1) the HEATIT stays dry,2) the HEATIT turns on at the proper temp, and3) the HEATIT turns off at the proper temp.Interestingly, the HEATIT cycles on/off frequently even if the actual outside air temp (OAT) remains below 35F. That is because the heat lamp switches on at 35F, the well house/rock warms and eventually the lamp goes off when house/rock inside temp is ~40F. When the well house drops to 35F again, the lamp comes back on. So, with my setup, the lamp is not on 100% of the time even when the OAT remains below 35F. Energy conservation!!The downside? When I check to see that the heat lamp is on when the OAT is below 35F, I may catch the HEATIT in its off cycle which causes consternation.Notable, too, is that condensation along the base of the fake rock (on a concrete pad) is an indicator of warmer air inside. With that explanation, I should not have to exit the house again tonight to prove to the wife that the well is protected from low temperatures. When the manufacturer sells a vertical unit, I might buy it. Might; because I have an efficient system.02 Nov 2023 Edit: Having forgotten that I wrote this review, I was irked to see the heat lamp was not on when I woke to the first freeze of the new winter. After doing all the proof-of-function checks again, I came back inside to write a review. Ha. This review was just waiting for an update. Yep, the HEATIT is still working as designed in my setup. Wish my memory was working as well!

Works as described, makes it easier for the space heater to go on and off but at lower temperatures. Will be great for power saving

I put this unit in my little green house to activate a heater should the temperature get close to freezing. Even when the temperature in the past week was very close to freezing it would not turn on the heater. I decided to put the unit in the freezer while plugged into the heater. After about half an hour the unit finally activated which would have been way too late to save my plants in the green house. Unfortunately I have had the unit past my return date so I am out of pocket for this unit. Sadly the temperature has only gotten cold enough in Central Alberta recently to try this auto turn on unit or I would have returned it for a refund. Perhaps I just got a dud.

Does what it says. Keeps the room from freezing. I use it my cold cellar. I keep all my preserves in there and don't want them to freeze. I have used it for the past almost 2 weeks now and I check it and the general room temp frequently with a thermometer because I want to eat them, I don't want to have to clean up all my preserves....
