I love these things. At my last house I used the chain locks that came with the gates and hated every minute of it. I knew when I fenced this property I wanted to try something different. These are so easy to use, very sturdy built, and were easy to instal. Our weather lately has been in the teen’s and twenty’s lately and I have noticed the latches freeze up a little but they are still very easy to open which just a hair more effort needed. Way way easier than using a chain latch!

At first I had reservations of whether this type of latch was going to work on my orchard fence well. But they are very well manufactured and the sequence of closure is terrific! The were just a bit wider than my 4x4 posts but look great and are very easy to use. Once closed I'd think any livestock (or in my case deer) would be unable to defeat this latch. Great job Hillmaster!

My farm gate came with a chain to secure the gate, but I wanted something that would be easier to use and provide more security. This latch was exactly what I wanted. Local farm supplies only had it in red, but the black looks so much better. It was also very easy to install.

This is a very heavy duty quality lock. We use this for our cattle gate at the front of our property. It's perfect, have no doubt it will last for years.

I have 10 of these around my property and they are definitely worth the price! One hand operation to open and then just push the gate to shut. Also very durable; I have had 4 of them for 12-14 years with no issues.Easy to install, but you may have to adjust the gap for a good fit.I don’t use it, but there is a place for a padlock if you need the security.

This works great in the cold and snow. It was easy to install and I have not had any issues with it at all. Great product!

Used this for a self closing chain link fence. It closes solidly and was a breeze to install. Would highly recommend.

This latch should last for many years. The powder coating is very good. Steel seems to be of good quality. Hardware for mounting is also very good. Can’t find anything wrong with this. Not meant for round poles obviously but I made it work. Worth the price and a damn good buy
