Have had no problems. Nice heavy tool. Due to science it heats up while cutting, just be sure to give it a break if it gets too hot as that's when things will break. If there's any issues setting the teeth then sand or file a light chamfer on the pipe and it will set just fine. The dye sits a bit loose in the rachet but doesn't cause any problems or slip.

Decent tool for the money. Cut 3/4 in threads. Fittings fit well. Clean threads.

Worked great for creating threads for the water supply under my house. It takes some time but does the job. I’m glad I don’t have to work with metal piping much. I used it to convert over to my pex system.

i used this to thread schedule 80 drop pipe, but it was very solid; to do galvanized, i think you'd need a vice to keep the pipe from spinning

The first attempt with the 3/4†die and two teeth chipped off the cutting die. Yes, I was using plenty of oil. With that said, the seller was extremely responsive and they shipped me out a new die direct from China.

Have only used it one time for the soul purpose of repairing the water supply line to my shop. Paid for itself on this one job. As anyone would know a trip to the proctologist is cheaper than employing the services of a plumber. As you can see from the photo made some mighty fine threads. Due to lack of clearance was not able to use the ratchet but as you can see a big crescent wrench worked just fine. The set is more expensive than the one sold by Harbor Freight but that not a fair comparison. This set has more dies thus make it capable of handling more pipe sizes. I really like tools that come in their own case and this set does not disappoint. It now resides in my arsenal of tool standing ready for the next time it is needed.

Over the years, I sometimes come around a cheap tool that does the job perfectly. This is NOT one of them! This is a cheap tool made in China and designed to make you mad. After reading several reviews about it, I did start by greasing it thoroughly as it is delivered as dry as a lawyer’s conscience.Nevertheless, all this tool does is ream your pipes with a nice bevel edge. Tried the 1/2NPT for an hour before giving up. Now I know a lot of guys will be bitching about some people not knowing what they’re doing, but I’ve been tapping pipes and bolts for more than 20 years and I can recognize a wrongly machined tap or die when I see one. This kit has no bite whatsoever, even when used properly. I even tried it with the pipe vertical putting all my weight on the die, to no avail. No amount of cutting oil or good technique will make you do a good job with a bad tool. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!
