The latches came well packaged with custom foam inserts to keep everything organized and prevent the parts from rubbing together. Besides the latches themselves, the kit also included the hardware, instructions, and a separate exploded diagram which shows all the components. The instructions have step by step directions with illustrations. These illustrations are good enough for their purpose, but looked like they were darkened during duplication which made them slightly unclear in some spots.Right away, I was super impressed by the beefy, robust feel and appearance of these latches. The cast aluminum parts combined with the thick stainless hardware, results in a fantastically strong device.Installation was easy and straightforward. The hinge pins on each component need to be removed in order to access the mounting holes beneath. These pins work like Chicago screws with the two halves of the pin coming in from opposing sides to screw together in the middle. This is easily accomplished using the included Allen wrenches that came in the box.The set also included rubber gaskets that go in between the metal bases of the latch parts and the mounting surface. I very much appreciated this feature to prevent damage and/or wear.At first, before I actually mounted them, I wasn’t sure how tight these would be when latched down. This was because they seemed to have such a short throw (the distance the lever travels between loose and locked), but there was no need to worry. When they are locked down, they are rock solid.All in all, this is a great set of latches.
