When I saw this tool, somehow I thought it was actually made by Fiskars, because of the orange color. Stupid, I know, but I wasn't paying attention. So when this tool arrived in some nondescript box with a literally just the tool stuck in there and nothing else, I was like "uh...what is this mess?" And then I realized it was this Meyoppm whatever business. But it's still a neat tool, and the design is really smart. The tool itself is sharp, and the metal is very robust and strong. My one complaint, about it, though, is that its manufacturing is kind of sloppy. The metal hook is joined to the shaft of the tool itself by dint of a little hole in the shaft and a raised cut-out in the hook. These two are not the same size, so the head of the tool rattles around ever so slightly in that hole. For something that you're probably slinging at a high rate of speed, this isn't the most comforting feeling. It certainly would be difficult for the thing to let loose, but you can imagine how harrowing that could be, if it were to happen and someone were in the direction you were pointing, even at a distance. Tighter tolerances on the manufacturing equipment, or some kind of shim or filler could have eliminated this problem. So, do better, actually. But also, a rock-bottom priced tool is seldom going to be the best in your collection, right?

This logging tool is relatively heavy and feels like it will last a while. It is as described and as pictured. The hole in the tool is a nice feature which makes it easy to store on a hook. Overall it works well for the described purpose.
