The EVO UV offers a 99.7 light transmission, with multiple coatings for hardness and light control. Doesn’t change WB.They’re filters above this offers slightly less light transmission, but does offer better scratch protection. I have a nice metal hood over the filter on my x100, and doesn’t need that level. No impact to AF performance compared to lower quality filters. And IMHO huge value compared to some from other quality glass like B+W.

I just purchased this UV 77mm filter for my new Canon ISII 100-400 zoom "L" lens. The last thing you want to do is put a cheap or inferior piece of glass in front of an expensive lens you just bought.I've used HOYA filters for 40 years and have always trusted them.

It’s scary putting an inexpensive product on a very expensive lens. This filter did not degrade my images yet gave me additional security walking along the beaches shoreline

I was looking for front lens element protection. It does the job just fine.

I have at least 6 of these for different lenses and could not be happier! I am not a pro photographer but I have very nice equipment and is a good balance for the money for a UV filter without spending twice the amount for the pro UV filter.

This is a great filter. Beautiful photos with this on my lens. I bought one for my macro lens and that was the deciding factor to purchase one for my zoom lens. The little extra cost for clear 99.8 light transmission and extra coatings makes it worth it to me. Also protects the actual lens. Hope this helps with one’s decision.

I have a growing number of Nikon lenses and have always used Hoya Antistatic filters to protect them. They fit well and have never been or caused any problems. For certain, they are on the pricier side but then, so are the lenses. I would definitely recommend.
