This knobs are great! The size is big enough to hide about 1 inch of extra screw, the star gripping shape is rounded enough to avoid hurting your hand and fingers while tightening the nut. Its size just feel well on the fingers, and will provide enough area to tight well the bolt and secure your piece or item. I tend to over tight things with my hands, so far the plastic part is holding well to the nut. The plastic is rigid with some texture for gripping It.I used them to tight a screw that would hold 2 PVC elbows in a fix position to vacuum the shaves on a drill press.If you are in the search for a good screw knob, don’t think twice, these are great!!!

With a 1/4-20 insert and a larger Counter Bore allows this to be used in multiple ways! I'm using a #10-32 screw with a standard washer and found it easily adapted to my application. Slight deburring might be needed to remove some sharp corners, otherwise the form factor is good. So I'm attaching the knob to something with a smaller screw, but it can also be used with a stud on your part and tightened down, or used to hold something which can be easily released. Pretty useful!

I built a contraption of pipes around my desk (to hang lights and mics from) but wanted some parts to be easily adjustable or removable. Since I used 1/4-20 screws and nuts for my build, these knobs were the perfect fit for the spots I want to easily adjust or disassemble.

I bought a package of these knobs after watching a video by Ron Paulk. I knew I'd be making some jigs and such in my shop.As Ron said, these are handy things to have around! I bought three different sizes in anticipation of some projects. That was a good decision. I like the 1.75" and 2.25" knobs better because they are easier to grab, even with numb fingers outdoors in the winter. The smaller 1.38" knob is a winner when there's not much clearance. Of course they work with any 1/4-20 bolt: hex head, carriage, or T-bolt.The photos show two of these knobs in use to secure a Bosch featherboard on my table saw. The shop-made extension on top of the rip fence is secured on the back side with three more star knobs.One photo shows a comparison of three featherboards. I used these five-point star knobs on the Bosch featherboard. I liked them better than the three-point knobs that came with the other featherboards.I like these knobs a lot. They have been VERY handy to have around. They only cost about $0.75 per knob. That's a bargain.I hope you find this helpful.Also shown:

I used these for a drill press table that I built to lock down the fence, lock down the table on the drill press and for the lock down clamps on the table. They are well made and feel good in your hand. This part number stays loose all the way down the bolt and doesn't tighten as the bolt passes through the knobs back. Some of these that look the same tighten up once the bolt gets to the back of the handle so make sure which type you are buying. I couldn't be happier with these knobs.
