I bought this to replace a Kichler photocell, which lasted about 3 years before failing. This is the 3rd or 4th time I have replaced the photocell for my landscape lighting, which suggests they don’t last. However, this unit is promised to last 8 years. While it is much too soon to know how long it will last, it does seem to work very well and is more sensitive to light than the Kichler. The replacement did require I cut off the connector plug from the Kichler and use standard wire nuts to connect the Intermatic to the old connector plug - very easy conversion. And the Intermatic cost about 1/2 of the Kichler, while promising 2-3 times the life.

Outstanding. I putted in a LED ligh pole about 70 feet away from the house next to my brick BBQ and it is amazing, worked fine. Turns on when dark and at first morning lights dawn turns off. Durable material, flexible to adapt /adjust to the magnetic North. Best in compared to the one I used / tested from Lowe's and Home Depot. Other photoCells remains open, light would not turns off, and cannot adjusted to a good North orientation.

Worked right the first time. Does a good job.

Ordinarily I wouldn't give a 5-star review for a device that simply does the job as advertised, but given I had previously tried two other such photocontrols (from two other manufacturers) both of which failed to work properly, I'm disposed to treat this one more kindly.

This is my second one for another home. The first one I purchased is over 5 years old (in the Florida heat) and has NEVER failed. Love this product. Easy install.

Used this with a set of string lights in my mother-in-law’s dog kennel. Nice to make it automatically controlled.

This item replaced a sensor used to control four, 4 watt LED post lights. It turns on and off within minutes of first and last sunrise/sunset times. It's very sensitive.

I was on the search for a photocontrol for a lamp post and found lots of reviews on slightly cheaper models citing that theirs had to be changed regularly or had stopped working. This one mounted well, came with all hardware, and has been problem free for years so far. You can swivel the arm so positioning is super easy despite where the sun is. Very happy with it.

I replaced something similar, which had worn out, with this one. It's better the the original to control the 5 lights on my garage, which are a combination of mini Fluorescents and 1 led. Sensitivity is just right and passing cars do not turn it off at night.
