This tool is a perfect tool. If you buy this tool, you will feel many feelings. Here are the feelings I feel with this tool:1) I could rebuild civilization with this tool.2) I could hunt a bear with this tool.3) I want to be buried with this tool.Yes, I only use it to score 22ga copper sheet. This is because of my own lack of imagination, not because of any limitations in the tool itself. This tool has no limits.God bless America.

When I first got into leather craft, I assumed a wing dividers were made equally and used the $12 pair from Tandy. With questionable results. These are so sturdy, set and stay set to the desired widths and the prongs are solid enough to make a consistent line without flexing.Should have bought these on day one.

Calipers are used for a lot of different purposes. I have half a dozen sets that I use regularly. None of them would work for machinists, who are thinking in 1000ths of an inch, or for potters, who frequently compare inside and outside diameters, and need a tool that isn't bothered by water or slurry. The Osborne tool is excellent for my use, which is transferring measurements from models to final sculptures. It has plenty of steel in it, tooled to tight tolerances. This set is particulary nice because it opens and closes freely, then locks instantly and securely, and finally provides the ability for fine adjustment with its thumb screw. It certainly is sturdy enough to take a little bit of bumping around. The 6" size is good for most of the things I do, but I keep my 4" Starrett and 12" no-name right next to it.

I expected to like this more than I do. First off, it is very sturdy, which is a feature that I was wanting. I didn't want the legs to flex as I put side pressure on it. It is perfect for that. However, the points were not as accurately finished as I needed so I had to touch them up myself. Further, the points do not come as close together as I have needed at times. They don't get much closer than 1/4". But, if you don't need it any closer than that, then this is a great tool for you.

Absolutely amazing and worth evey penny. I was using an inexpensive wing divider and the tips were extremely thin/narrow and left a groove as wide a razor blade. I LOVE this because it leave nice wide/deep groove allowing easier and far more consistent placement of my diamond chisels. Absolutely recommend this! I did find the 6" to be a tad shorter than what I was used to, but I'm still loving it. I'd probably recommend getting the larger one.

First rate quality no doubt. Even if closed completely they will have a small gap so they have limitations. That said they are high quality wing dividers and if you set them to a specific distance they will stay that way. Good fit and finish overall.

For the price, they should sharpen it. I sharpened the points myself.
