Works as expected. For my ball it seemed a tight fit. However, It definitely does work, I just worry that if I tighten it too much it might crack.However, I got this because my prior plastic mount had cracked, so it has successfully fixed a different one that had cracked, and as of now this one is doing everything it is supposed to.

Seems well built. No complaints. Good for smaller devices - which is what you want with a 17mm socket.

Very short 1/4 stud on back. Seemed to hold ball securely.Wish I knew if all the studs were .16"Did sent refund.

I have an electronic dash mounted inclinometer that came with a 13mm ball mount attached to it. This allowed me to change the size ball size to17mm , giving me better mounting options. Very handy!

The cap is different size than the mount and will not screw together

Broke less than a month. Cracked in half in fall temperatures. Wouldn’t recommend

I ordered this to experiment with mounting things on the dash using a mount from a Garmin GPS. My Garmin GPS mount has a 17mm ball that fits this socket, so by taking the GPS off and popping this doohickey on, I can put a small camera, or whatever else I want on the mount. It works quite well. I tried it with a small USB video camera and it worked fine. I will explore other possibilities, but for now I will give it five stars for making options available. Five stars.
