Works very well. Leaves a clean hole and no marks on the surface with a clean hole. Used it to countersink the top of a dresser. Used dowel to fill in the hole and it worked as I hoped it would.

Initially, I went cheap on a similar version of this. The plastic ring at the end made marks in the wood. Save yourself a headache and buy this one.

This works awesome, two steps in one; pre-drill and countersink in one move. I have drilled hundreds of holes and it's still super sharp. Highly recommend.
