The design is simple and installation is easy to customize. My “desk†is actually a table that has a storage area underneath, so I couldn’t just screw into the particle board and trust that. So I bought some bolts and wing nuts, drilled through the bottom of the table and added some wide washers for extra stability. The wing nuts will allow me to remove the tray easily if I ever need to use this as a table again. The brackets also needed to be reversed to fit the width of my table and it worked just fine. I’ve bought other trays before that were a pain to put together but this was really easy. It took about 30 minutes to install.I like that the tray doesn’t slide in and out too freely, so it doesn’t try to slide back in as I’m typing. It’s wide enough for a full keyboard and mouse. It comes with a wrist rest and some foam I assume is for a mousepad, but I just use my own mousepad. I would buy this again if I ever need a second one.

Firstly I thought of getting a clamp type tray which I later confirmed would get in the way when I move things around on the desk. At least it wasn’t for me. There was another type of product in the same price range. It had smaller width, but had a separate mouse pad base linked to it, which didn’t seem to be solid enough. I finally chose this one mostly because of the extra-wide inner drawer space (24.5â€) which I knew would give me a lot more room to maneuver my keyboard and mouse within a single drawer space, thus giving me more position tolerance. At first look, I wasn’t sure if the rails and brackets were solid enough, but I trusted one of the other reviewers who said it was. The brackets and rails are solid and sturdy and it shouldn’t be a concern, unless you would mean to abuse it. I’m very satisfied with the product and I’m happy that I went with this one. Now my hands nicely hang and rest when I type or use mouse, giving no more strain to my wrists or elbows. Unless you have a desk you can flip over easily for the installation, some measuring, simulation on the optimum installation position, and actual installation under your desk could take some time. Price was right and I would select the same product if I had to do it again. BTW, wrist rest pad and mouse pad came along with the tray which was great. The mouse pad could be better, so I threw in my old mouse pad in there as well. The wrist rest pad, however, is great and no complaint.

Works as advertised, but doesn't have enough adjustment for my needs.Pros:Installs with shipped hardware for any desk 3/4" or thicker. I don't know what all the noise is about screw holes not lining up.Slides out easily, with a positive lock when pushed all the way in, under the deskFairly sturdy plastic. Middle flexes a minor amount when I rest my hands on the keyboard.Cons:Adjustability - Proper ergonomics recommends a negative tilt and a height just above the thighs. This tray sits flat and drops a maximum of three inches below the desk. It doesn't come anywhere near my thighs and is uncomfortable for these reasons. Once installed, there is not adjustability other than sliding it in and out from the desk. I may place wooden blocks under the brackets to get some extra drop below the desk if I don't end up returning this. I could potentially get a negative slope by using different mounting holes in the brackets, but I haven't tried it yet.SmartFit - This is a silly hand template. It recommends positioning the space below the desk based on the size of your hands. Larger hands equals a larger drop. This seems backwards to me. People with smaller hands tend to be shorter and would want the largest drop. I have a small to average sized male hand and even at the largest drop the keyboard is not usable for me without sliding it out from under the desk. Regardless, this seems to be more of a marketing gimmick than having any relation to ergonomics.installation: Mounting to the underside of the desk could be made easier if a paper template was included. I installed this myself and it's not easy to line everything up and install when laying on your back reaching up. I also found my spacial logic was impaired when in that position. I made careful measurements, marked the underside of the desk, and drilled a pilot hole for the first screw to get myself started. 3" in from the front edge of the desk is a good location for the screw for the front mounting brackets. Spacing between left and right bracket screw holes is 27 1/4"Black Mouse pad: Minor complaint here. Most mice are optical these days. Black doesn't reflect much light and reduces battery life on your mouse.Return shipping: not included if you don't like the product

Having a computer keyboard level with your arms & hands truly makes using a computer so much easier to use. We needed a drawer for a new computer & the Kensington seemed to fill the bill.Very high quality - everything worked exactly as designed. Comes with easy to understand & follow instructions & a wrist rest for those keyboards that don't have them built-in.Tray slide all the way out to make keyboard fully assessable, even with the wrist rest installed. If you need a keyboard drawer, the Kensington is a winner!

If you have any doubts in your ability to assemble and install things do not buy this drawer. I have assembled a lot of things and this process was by far the worst. Assuming they have sent all the necessary hardware (mine was missing a couple of screws) , be VERY observant of the instructions on the first page that show how to attach the sliders to the sides of the drawer. The instructions are not particularly clear.Installing the drawer on your desk: keep in mind that something will need to be upside down, either you (under the desk) or the desk so that you can screw it in place to the underside of the desk. The quality of the drawer is just OK, but it does have a lot of space, which is awesome. After installing it I needed to give it a good strong yank to get the sliders moving. While the drawers that clamp to the desk aren't as pretty, they can save a lot of time and aggravation. Perhaps I should have gone with one of those.

I have a 50" wide x26.3" deep x 29.5" high curved front desk that needed a keyboard drawer that would fit under a 1.5" high x .5" deep frame running under the desktop, that varies from about 1.5" to 3" in from the outside edge because of the front desk curve. Taking some measurements, I knew I would have to use the maximum drop for the brackets to get under this frame, so no need to use the "smart fit" directions.First thing to note in assembling the keyboard tray is that the drawer sliders can be attached in only one orientation. Initially, not looking at the directions provided too closely, I lined up a slider and it looked like it was the wrong size as screw hole distance on the tray didn't match the distance for the holes in the brackets on the slider. Tried other side, same thing. Looked at pic in directions and watched online video of assembly and realized the sliders do fit. Take one slider and try on both sides, flipping until you get the orientation right. They will fit. Used middle bottom hole of long side of bracket to attach screw.Once assembled, had the desk upside down and placed the tray on the underside of the desk where I wanted it (short side of brackets screw into desk and long side of bracket hangs down as I was using maximum drop for the keyboard). Marked screw holes, pre-drilled holes and then screwed on. Front brackets were placed flush with the 1.5" frame that I had to get under. See attached pics.I have a K800 keyboard and there is about a 5/8" clearance between it and the 1.5" frame I had to get under (see pics). Keyboard is 18" wide and the tray is 24" wide, leaving adequate room for a mouse (mouse pad included). Note, a bulkier mouse may hit the desk when you close the tray. However, I have my mouse on a small table flush to my keyboard tray and find it ergonomically more comfortable (see pics).Keyboard tray slides in and out smoothly and feels solid and supportive. Maximum bracket drop allows sufficient clearance for keyboard. Directions straight forward (watch the online video if you have trouble). No missing parts. Would buy again.
