These loppers look and appear to be perfect for the job. We thought we had found the perfect pruning tool for small, 3/4" to 1 1/4" dead branches. We used them once last November 2019 when they arrived. No problem, they cut perfectly. Then the loppers were unused during the winter. This week, 4/13/2020 we brought them out for use again. Used them a second time on 4/13/2020, again nothing but perfection. Then on 4/14/2020 during the third use EVER, the blade broke on a small 1 inch dead branch. A huge chip fell right out of the center of the blade. Disappointed? Absolutely. But I thought no problem, Kings County Tools is the manufacturer and Amazon is the seller, I'll just write Amazon. But to my demise, Amazon is no longer selling this item. I suppose I have no options at this point. I've written to Kings County Tools but have not received an acknowledgement or reply. In summary, be wary. The price point is the highest, yet the strength and durability is UNACCEPTABLE! 3 uses and it's useless. If Kings County Tools responds, I'll update this review. I've also written to Amazon but passing the buck seems to be the process thus far.Denny-Disappointed in Arizona!++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++6/18/2020 UPDATE TO MY ORIGINAL REVIEWAfter I reported my broken blades to Amazon, and in turn to Kings County Tools, I was contacted by Kings County Tools. They apologized for the problem and asked me whether I wanted a new set of blades or an entirely new pair of loppers. I told them new loppers. A few days later, much to my surprise, I received a brand new pair of loppers. There isn't any better customer service than that!! Thank you Kings County Tools for handling my problem. When ordering tools in the future, I'll go to Kings County Tools first. I just referred my friend and neighbor and she is ordering a set of the anvil loppers as well!!Denny - A Satisfied Kings County customer in Tucson!

This lopper is not for twigs! It cuts branches up to about 1.5" in diameter. Its handles extend to 40" giving you lots of leverage with a ratcheting action. They will cut just about anything that you can get the jaws around. I had one of these several years ago and it worked very well until I finally broke it. They are not indestructible, but they are very strong and relatively light.

This is a high quality branch cutter. The ratcheting mechanism makes cutting effortless. It took a bit of getting used to since I've only used shears before but this cuts through dead or live branches cleanly and easily. The extendable arms allow cutting at a good height without need for a ladder.Don't hesitate to buy. It is worth the extra dollars. You get what you pay for.

I bought these to replace my cheap harbor freight loppers that are showing there age. Boy, talk about the right tool for the job! They are heavy, but to be expected if they are going to be durable. Cut right through dead and live limbs with no issues with minimal effort. The ratcheting system is a feature I can't hype enough. If you looking at getting these, do it, they are worth every cent.

I have had one of these tools for 6 years and it is still going strong. The handle extensions slip a bit after so many years so decided to get a new one. Having two will also make the work go faster since both my husband and I will be able to cut branches now. Both my husband and I are in our sixties and both have arthritis, being on a large acreage with lots of trees we need a tool that is strong, does the job it is designed for, and won't break with one season's work. These are great Loppers that will work for years to come.

Purchased this very same anvil lopper I purchased possibly 10 years ago, or more. It was very easy to use, & was a great tool until the ratcheting stopped working in 2021. It simply would no longer clamp down & cut through anything. It took me almost 2 years to find a replacement. Perhaps I was looking in the wrong places. I would recommend this lopper to anyone doing arbour or bush trimming but warn not to try to cut anything too big, or you may run into the same problem I did. I blame myself for damaging the lopper. Would like to know from vendor if the damaged one I have can be repaired?
