It is easier to spread room temp butter. The container area could be a little larger. Hardly holds 1/2 cup of butter.

This cute little butter holder was so easy to set up. Put room temp butter in, fill to the line with water, and voila! It is a much better look on my counter than the rectangle shaped dish with a cover. Those always manage to get so messy. I'm hoping this will be different. If that changes, I will update my review.

This is such a pretty crock that I can keep on my countertop and have soft butter readily available anytime. I do wish it was taller to hold two sticks at a time but I think we are using less because it spreads so well. The butter seems to be lasting longer. I thought it would be a hassle to use and keep filled and clean but it only needs attention once a week so it’s not a big deal for me. It makes me smile everyday. And it’s one less thing that has to be stored in the refrigerator.Update 12/24: Not sure what has changed but once the butter level goes down it likes to plop out of the bell and into the water. It just won’t adhere to the bell anymore.

It’s important to pack in the butter to remove all the air and change the water every week. It’s the freshest I’ve had my butter. Holds one whole 1/4 stick, or half cup of butter. Butter doesn’t go rancid unlike my old butter dish. Has a convenient fill line.
