At first I thought these arrived used as both of the hand guards are scuffed up significantly. Then I realized it’s because they each are nestled in the carrying case which rubs on the tip of the adjacent tool. Not used, just jostled around a bit, which is what makes having the case so nice, wherever you keep these if you are going to be moving them around they’re going to get banged up or bang up the things with them. The case means I can grab on the go for rock hounding and throw it in my vehicle with ease. Probably another similar tool without a wide hand protecting piece can probably also fit into the case. I can’t wait to get out and use these. My friends had the same set and I thought it was brilliant to have the hand guard. I didn’t understand the benefit until after 20 minutes of banging around and realizing my accuracy was going downhill. This saved my hands from countless bruises and allowed me to work for much longer.

The chisels are ok. The carrying case for them is nice. They are heavy and seem well made overall, but the tips were worn down and flattened/dulled pretty quick. I did use them for removing cove base on a flooring similar to cement. Not a huge deal though, they remained usable. My biggest issue is the handle. It’s nice to grip and hold but the handle slides off the chisel when you’re hammering on it. I have to stop what I’m downing and slide the handle back down the chisel so I can hammer it. About four or five hits later I have to do it again, as it slides back towards the striking end every hit. I will probably return them because of this, or try to secure it to the chisel better with some epoxy or something.

Had to bust up the concrete around a floor drain but had to be careful not to break the pvc pipe…took an awhile and with the help of a hammer drill was able to get it done.

We were just breaking open some small goods and the chisel was dull after just a couple of strikes. We had better luck just hitting them with the hammer. They may be useful one day for something softer
