Bought this to replace my local HF Tools claw type spring compressors that weren't doing the job. These spring compressors are well worth the money.I needed to install new springs into my light duty SUV, old claw type spring compressors couldn't compress more than 3" without bending. These new spring compressors brought the spring down 5-6" as needed with no issues to install into my new front struts. They feel durable, safe and smooth.

Used to change front struts on 2010 Silverado. Tool is outstanding. Extremely well made and more than up to the task. Fit coils without any issue and during use showed zero signs of flex or strain.What I can tell you is that I didn’t lubricate the long screws initially and due to the forces, the threads did get a bit galled on one side but I noticed the increase in drag while tightening. After applying some black moly grease the tool performed flawlessly and was significantly easier to use.

I got this set after I bent a pair of claw-type spring compressors trying to replace front springs on a 5th-gen 4Runner. These ones fit better in the tight coils, and worked really well to compress the heavier truck springs. I felt a lot more comfortable using these ones, and went ahead and scrapped the other type.So long as you don't do anything goofy like crank down on it with an impact, it should be perfectly safe for just about any spring you want to do.

These don't bend or deflect like many of the other ones on the market.First use for me is Toyota Tacoma front coil springs to put on some coilovers for a different vehicle.Made the job easy enough to use a gear wrench and 2 fingers. Very good tool for the job.The price is great, as is the tool.

If you don't have much clearance between the strut body and the coil spring, this is your best bet.Super sturdy and easy to compress the spring with hand tools.
