Received the set of tools and while not thrilled that they weren't as steep as I was hoping they were, they're pretty good stamps and definitely a good purchase. They weren't advertised as steep angle bevelers, I was just wagering a guess that they might be a little steeper based on the pics which were somewhat ambiguous. They're typical 45-50ish degree (or whatever is common to standard bevels) that are smooth, of substantial heft for a stamp, and have a nice profile and texture to the shank for grip and extended use. The sizes are a nice, useful progression for the style of work I do, which is a bit of a departure from the traditional Sheridan style floral. Good purchase for the beginner to pretty experienced leather worker who likes to add an artful touch to their work. They won't replace an expert's set of Barry King's or similar high end tools, but they're a small fraction of the price and far superior to the cheap quick-wearing chinesium beginner Tandy stamps and other similar examples sold by a dozen or more importers here on Amazon that most new guys start out with. As is the case with most any leather working tool that affects the visual appeal of the final product, a little more money is most often well-spent. Within reason, anyway. These are a wise choice to upgrade from the typical beginner junk stamps that don't make good crisp impressions and quickly react with the oils in your skin, turning the cheap stamps dull and chalky. No sign of any wear after a fair bit of use over several months. Well, other than where I took the grinder to them to increase the angle, but the modifications polished up nicely and still a nice looking, good tool for a more than fair price. Go on n getchu some.
