Aime Ledin has been making industrial quality measuring and marking tools since 1902. This pencil compass is made from high-grade carbon steel and has a hardened and finely ground point. It includes a universal pencil holder. It has a black gun metal finish to resist corrosion. It features a quick-spring nut for rapid and precise fine adjustments that will securely hold any measurement. To make large adjustments, tip the nut to disengage the threads, and slide to a new measurement. Release the spring to engage the threads and turn the nut for fine adjustments. The robust Yankee style flat-leg construction makes the unit very durable. They have a burnished and hardened spring for years of service. Leg length is 6 inch, overall length is 7-1/2 inch and overall opening is 6 inch.

I don't write reviews often at all, but I decided this product deserves one. I ordered this compass as a gift for my son. It is made in France stamped on the compass and it is a quality made product. It has some weight to it making it sturdy which upon picking up you can tell right away. The adjustable knob to open and close the compass is very nice. It even comes in a large vinyl pouch with a plastic piece on the pointed end of the compass to protect yourself from getting poked. The black and gold finish was beautiful and happens to be 2 of his favorite color combination. Would strongly recommend this product! Worth every penny! Thank You!

Great product so far. Used them a few times now for metal fabrication work. They work really well at drawing circles and arcs that I need for the fabrication projects I do. Also have been reliable for transferring measurements to multiple pieces.

It feels like a well built vintage tool, very easy to adjust and precise. I was even able to use a mechanical pencil in the pencil holder.

The legs of this divider are not parallel, one is offset by at least 10 mm. They arrived this way, but I forgot about them and missed my return window.

Ledin 6" compass is the best one I have ever owned. This one has that heavy quality feel to it that I have been looking for. It fits right in with all of my woodworking and drawing diagrams. Very nice product.
