The Leviton ODC0S-I1W Ceiling-Mount Self-Contained Occupancy Sensor is the cost-effective choice for commercial and institutional spaces where traditional ceiling-fixture installation is difficult, inconvenient, or costly. Ideal for storage areas, small bathrooms, copy rooms, mop/sink closets, or small spaces without wall switches, this self-contained sensor will help reduce energy costs and it does not require an external power pack and will help reduce energy costs.

Automatic Lighting Control for Energy Savings
It's well-known that turning off the lights when leaving a room is one of the simplest ways to cut down on energy usage. Yet it's not always convenient or easy to remember, especially in rarely used storage spaces or rooms in which a variety of people are coming and going throughout the day.

The Leviton ODC0S-I1W Ceiling-Mount Self-Contained Occupancy Sensor helps eliminate this problem by providing automatic motion detection for lighting control. It has an adjustable 360-degree field of view and offers approximately 530 square feet of coverage when mounted at eight feet, reducing the number of sensors required in many spaces. It also offers an adjustable, delayed OFF time setting between 20 seconds and 15 minutes for maximum savings.

About PIR Technology
The ODC0S-I1W uses Passive Infrared (PIR) detection technology via a segmented Fresnel lens to monitor a room for occupancy. This specialized lens divides the field of view into sensor zones. When a person passes into or out of a sensor zone, the sensor detects motion and switches the lights ON. The lights will remain ON as long as there is an occupant in the room. When the space being monitored by the sensor is unoccupied for the preset time you've entered, the unit will switch the lights OFF.

Manual Override and LED Indicator for Easy Operation
For added convenience, the ODC0S-I1W offers an ambient-light override option that can be set between 0.5 and 500+ foot-candles at full brightness to prevent the sensor from switching lights ON when there's sufficient sunlight, regardless of occupancy. A standard A/C toggle may also be used to switch lights OFF during presentations. And to ensure continual operation, an LED indicator flashes when the sensor detects motion to verify power placement and proper functioning of the unit.

Compliancy and Warranty Information
UL Listed and CSA certified, the ODC0S-I1W complies with the California Title 24 Energy Code and FCC regulations. It is backed by a five-year limited warranty.

I was going to give it a 1 star because it kept on turning on by itself in bathroom. Then I found out it is NOT made for small rooms ilke a bathroom or closet. So I moved it to my 2 car indoor garage and it works AWESOME!!!!!

This product is an exact replacement for the IR motion sensor I installed in my home in 2003. I purchased original Leviton units from local electrical supplier. Seems like 2016 they started to fail. When I rebuilt my 200+ year old home I made electrical provisions to control the lighting in each room, and or area. Worked great. I'm gradually replacing, and after six months of use, [gradually replacing them] so far so good. The green LED behind the bezel seems brighter [indicates motion detected]. One setting for daylight [I don't use-turned down to disable], and the time delay takes a little messing around till you get it where you want it. So don't put the ladder away right away. Be patient, once you have it dailed in where you want it, it has stayed consistent. Also remember, it's IR sensor, so radical temperature variation will initiate sensor. I have ductwork that will blow heat/ cool, so rarely that initiates. The physical attributes resemble a smoke detector in the ceiling. Be aware also if using this with a 1G old work box the sensor does not completely cover. When we sheetrocked covered most of the opening then cut out min opening. Don't know what Leviton expected electrician to use for box to make it finish nicely. Overall really reliable.

Easy to install. I needed 4 wires coming out of the sensor to match how my old sensor was wired. Most sensors come with 3 wires.

This sensor costs a bit more than some of the others, but well worth the money. I have tried a couple of cheaper ones before this, and they either turned on the lights when I didn't want them to, or just the opposite. This model has an adjustment for the ambient light conditions to allow it to activate the lights. It also has an adjustment for how long to keep the lights on after the last motion was detected. Leviton is a good company that makes good products. A strong word of caution. If you buy one of these, make sure you get the model that is closest to the size of the area you want motion detection in or you may well have problems. I would highly recommend these.

this item is awfull. ut has everything ones needs to set up as sensor. we can adjust either light sensitivity and time by meanas of trimmers. I was looking for something like that 'cause some of them has just jumpers with presets that doesn't fit my needs.Updated may 16th 2013...It stoped working out of nothing, it failed and I don't see the reason, no strike, no outage, anything that might have cause the failure... contacted manufature to try to fix it but they want me to replace it... too much money to try again..

I installed this in my 2-car attached garage (21' x 21' with an 8'5" ceiling) as I was always forgetting to turn off the lights when done working in there (used as a workshop) or putting something in the recycling bins. There are two 3-way wall switches that operate the 2 ceiling light fixtures located over where each car would be parked. I located the Sensor in the center of the garage ceiling and ran a 14-3 wire to the "lead" fixture, i.e. the one that receives power first. Changing the wiring at the "lead" fixture to feed the sensor first, then back to the "lead" fixture did the trick. It didn't seem to matter which blue wire was connected to which hot wire. After the 5 minute self-test time, I played with the settings and got it to turn off after about 4-5 minutes of no motion. I was not able to set it so that the lights would not come on if sufficient ambient light was present, but that's no big issue for me.Some reviews indicated this does not like warm locations. I live in South Carolina and it's not unusual for the garage to get into the upper 90's this time of year. It's been a couple months and so far it works every time.

I bought this sensor thinking 'you get what you pay for'. This sensor works extremely well. A little too good! As other reviewers have mentioned, this senor will activate, even, if no movement is present. A small vibration in the house will set this sensor off (= slamming a door, knocking on the wall, etc...). So I sent it to Leviton in Oregon to check it out. They were extremely friendly and helpful. Especially the last phone call I received was very informative. The unit I sent in was working as intended. However, come to find out, this unit is made for areas of 300 square feet or larger with 12+ feet ceilings. Large garages, barns, etc... (This was NOT in the description!) They have to be sensitive to work well under those circumstances. This sensor is not made for small areas such as bathrooms, closets, etc.... They sent back the original unit AND a unit that WILL work in my situation: a 9 by 9 feet bathroom with 9 foot ceiling. So even though this unit works extremely well, it is not suited for home owner usage, but for large commercial usage. The latter I have not been able to test.

The photocell feature caused me some trouble, as the users wanted the lights to come on, no matter what the ambient light level was. I finally had to tape the photocell over and it works fine now. Instructions on how to set it up were poor; tech support was available and helped some. Overall, the relay output switch was exactly what I needed to switch fluorescent lights. Testing it was time consuming, based on what the tech said I had to do; very confusing process.

I just installed two of these at the request of the owner of a new restaurant. One in the men's washroom and one in the women's washroom. Each is switching a 0.5 ampere fan motor(60 watts) and 100 watts of LED lighting. I cranked the sensitivity to the max and adjusted the on-time to approximately 15 minutes or so. So far they are working perfectly. It has been 6 weeks and no sign of fault. Everybody says they work great. The response time to trigger is a hair to slow but totally fine. As a backup plan, if these fail, I installed 24 volt lines to install the low voltage version with solidstate relays. Being a commercial space, I can not afford to have these fail. I did not warranty them, nor the fans because anything with a motor or sensitive electronics is deemed to fail at some point in time. What I did do is give the client a back-up plan. Anywho, these things are working great.

Perfect for our home use in the garage. Wife doesn't need to find the light switch while holding our baby, and carrying whatever else. Pretty simple to wire up as well (if you have some electrical knowledge/experience). Thinking about buying another one for the laundry room too.
