Great too to help with getting better at pullups

At the position it came out of the box, it reduced my bodyweight by 60lb with the strap touching the floor on my scale to verify. A must have for those who want to spend more time doing the reps to work yourself up. I got up to around 15 reps for pull-ups then removed the center strap. I wound up matching the same number of reps after my usual week of rest after exercising. I have kept it at 2 straps but plan to add a weighted vest to increase the intensity. I haven't adjusted the strap but can confirm moving it up will give you a lot more assistance since I tested it on different height door frames with my pull up bar, the higher door frame gave more assistance than the lower. My only complaint is that you can't go below 2 straps to continue increasing the intensity but the simple fix is adjusting the strap height; for this I highly recommend using a scale and someone to assist lining up the scale, it is a little bit of a balance act lol, if you are making sure to keep track of your numbers, especially how much assistance it's giving you at the start point as I'm not sure if they all come factory at the same length setting out of the box.

Even though they are the hardest exercise to master (as in execute correctly), pullups are supposedly the best overall exercise in terms of toning your arms, shoulders, back, abs, etc. I've been incorporating pull-ups in my exercise routine for the past 6 months. At first, I found pullups (with no assistance) to be almost impossible. I mean I had muscles but the muscles that were required to actually pull myself up seemed to be woefully weak. Back then I didn't know that pullup assists were available. So, I kept working at it until I was able to do 3 consecutive pullups at a time. I couldn't go beyond 3 in a row. After seeing these on an exercise video, I found this unit from Lifeline USA and decided to get it a try. It was really easy to put together (you don't even need to look at directions) and it was easy to adjust the length you want it. Shorter for taller people and longer for shorter people. When I did my first pullup using this unit I could definitely feel that it helped me. In fact, I was able to do about 8 consecutive pullups before I couldn't continue anymore. What I discovered was that it kind of gave you a little boost up until your arms get to be about 45 degrees to the bar at which time you can start really using your biceps, shoulder, biceps, ab muscles to take your chin up beyond the bar. It sort of "bounces" you up to a point in which you can take over and pull yourself up. Of course, it doesn't provide as much assistance as a stationary chair but you can really feel it helping. The one thing I had a problem with was that I don't think this would have made a difference for me if I couldn't even do 1 single pullup. I would end up just stepping into the holster and then my body weight would stretch the elastic lines and then I would just hang there unable to pull myself up. I think you really have to be able to do a few pullups by yourself first before you can get the full potential out of this unit. It allows you to do more consecutive FULL pullups before getting so tired you can't go on. Gradually, I'm hoping to wean myself off this unit after I build more muscle through repetitive use.So, bottom line is that if you're a beginner pullup person, this probably won't work so well for you. Don't expect to be able to do pullups like those people on TV late at night. If you can do a few full pullups (without assistance) then this unit will help you take it to the next level. On a side note, it would be good if they could have included different resistance elastic bands (light, medium and heavy-duty) to accommodate for people of varying body weights. Obviously, a lighter person would get a bigger boost than a heavier person when using this unit.

Love this assistance band sooooo much! I am not really "out of shape" per se but I haven't had an exercise routine in over 2 years. I decided to start P90X3 (I had done P90X 2 years ago). At the end of my last P90X stint, I was able to do pull-ups, push-ups, etc. all by myself and it was great. When I started out, I was using the "chair method". Upon starting P90X3, I again, was using a chair to help with doing my pull-ups but it just didn't feel like I was getting what I should out of the exercises. Well, in the P90X3 videos, they actually have this exact band that they use to assist in the exercising so I decided to look it up on Amazon. I am soooo glad I purchased this! It is EXACTLY what I need to give me just a little bit of help to keep myself going with my pull-ups and it actually works for push ups too! Until purchasing this, I was doing "girly" push-ups on my knees. Now I use the assistance band for both pull-ups and push ups. I cannot explain how much it helps. It gives just the right amount of assistance to help me do the exercises the correct way but I am able to get a better workout and push myself harder because I'm not trying to figure out how much "assistance" to give myself with a chair or while kneeling to do push ups. It is adjustable which is nice because I can start off with a lower amount of resistance and increase it as I get fatigued. This has made all the difference in the world! My weight (was) 145 and I'm at 135 now and the resistance is perfect for me. I would recommend this to anyone that needs alittle help or just a little extra push to be able to exercise to their max capability!

I was a bit skeptical when buying this first. Some people say it works and some say it's no good for a beginner. This is all BS. Any beginner can use this and they're pull ups will improve. I was working out for a month or so before using this product. Just doing a standard workout routine. I could not do a pull up to save my life. After using this product one day a week on back/bicep day for 1-1.5 months I can now do 6 pull-ups with out the resistance band. Just make sure to use proper form when using this and you will be amazed how quickly you see results.

Very good piece of equipment to get you started for chin ups and more I’ve been a user of this band for a long time BUT the bands can snap without any notice.
