I have noticed the low setting is slightly slower than the fan's low speed. It works well through for sleeping as it subtly moves air without the 'whoosh'. All in all, it's a great switch and simple to install/use.

Installation was relatively straightforward, but this item is bulkier than the switch it replaced and it takes a while to reposition the wiring in the two gang box so it all fits. Other than that it allowed me to lower the fan speed below the lowest setting on the fan switch itself. I left the fan switch on the fan housing to medium speed and use the wall switch to set a lower high, medium, and low setting. This allowed me set a very low fan speed while sleeping.

It says 3 speeds, and that is exactly what it is. With a slider I expected it to be continuously variable, but the slider has 3 solid detentes, thus 3 fixed speeds. But really, do you need to fine tune a ceiling fan? It matches the Lutron light dimmer switch installed beside it, so it looks good. The install is easy, but you have to pay attention to the instructions, as the switch has a "traveler wire", so it can be used is 2 way switch circuits. Lutron is a good company. I had a problem with a couple of their dimmers and they sent me replacements even though they were out of warranty. So you can buy with confidence!

Have a double switch at location this was installed. It works well. Has 3 settings for the slide. It installed straight forward (2 wire). The fan hums slightly at the highest setting however this may be normal because it is a new fan and I'm not sure what it is supposed to sound like on the highest setting and typically the humming is on lowest setting with most switches. This switch does not hum on the lowest setting. It is actually a perfect speed for leaving the fan running and slightly moving some air.

I’ll take blame as I did not realize that this unit only controls a fan and not a fan/light combo. I bought this as match to dimmers ganged with it. Wasted 45 bucks as I need both light and fan control.

I used this Lutron fan control to replace a bad switch on a Mire fan. The Lutron switch solved my problem. Great product!!!

Before purchasing this make sure your fan in a 3 speed fan and not a 4 speed fan. Seen a lot of bad reviews on this product saying the fan speeds are way off but that would only be the case if you used a 3 speed switch on a 4 speed fan or if the setting on the fan itself is not set to the highest speed. This switch worked EXACTLY as described when used properly. Would buy again!
