I'm new to sewing, and it was very hard for me to make appliques for my projects. I got this set and love it. It has different sizes and accessories to make your sewing project a success. I think is perfect for beginners, and for the occasional projects. If you are a professional already, you will probably be looking for more sturdy or accurate pieces.For the rest of us, I think is perfect.

My daughter has been sewing more lately, and to ensure my bias tape makers do not go missing, I picked up this set.Overall, it's a solid set, with a full range of tape makers, an awl, clips, pins and even some cardboard bobbins. Great for quilting, bag making, and children's clothes - she now has sizes I don't! (perhaps some of hers will go 'missing'.A couple of the tape makers aren't 'quite' aligned as expected, for that I deducted 1 star. I would get again however, as that can be fairly easily worked around and at $40, it's a lovely set.

I am just dipping my foot back into sewing and recently bought a bunch of red bias tape for my project. I kept seeing people make suggestions on how to make bias tape in a DIY method but i felt overwhelmed doing so with that project. After reading the instructions in this set and getting a firm grasp on how to create bias tape I feel ever so much more confident. Will use this for my next sewing project and if it fails me or falls short I will definitely update this review with my findings. I like that it has clips, the larger clips are a size I do not have and appreciate them including the bigger clips. Comes with fairly easy to understand instructions and a box to keep it all in.

While this is a very nice kit, the actual binding tools are not accurate enough for my needs. The crease is not centered because the tool is too wide. There is simply too much wriggle room when feeding the fabric. I have attached a picture of a Clover brand 1/4 inch tool along side the Madam Sew version (Madam Sew is the darker green). You can easily see that the channel of the Madam Sew product is significantly wider. If you don't care about accuracy, this set may be good enough, but if you want a centered seam spend the extra money and buy Clover.

This is a comprehensive set for making bias tape. I am pleased with it. There are instructions as well, for which I am grateful. All I really need is the material.I like that the set, in general, is of very good quality. There is nothing flimsy or inexpensive in it. That is important to me because flimsy items break and need replacement. The second thing I really like is that there is a specified space for everything. Often, such sets come with everything just placed in a container, without set placements. That mixes everything up untidily. This set remains neat, everything in place and it is a pleasure to open it each time.
