Very well constructed, what you would expect from a performance-grade stand. I have used the smaller Manhasset stands for ensambles in the past, but I use this stand for practicing at home, so the configuration is not horizontal for scores but rather mostly vertical as one would configure it for reading sheet music while playing an instrument. This stand currently holds my Cello bow, tuner, rosin, pencils, the iPad, and about five paper-backed practice books without any issues (no torque pulling the stand down to the earth). I haven't stress tested the stand but I'd imagine if you had a heavy dictionary on it there could be undesired movement - luckily on assembly you get to know where the bolts are on the back of the stand to tighten down in this case. The additional real estate for having two practice books open (or an iPad with videos) at the same time is extraordinary - just like for reading four sheets of music on an upright piano. It's like having two computer monitors; super productive, it's great!

The added pocket behind the front of the stand helps make this very rigid & secure & the extra width is very useful. These are useful features to have when music & a laptop both share the stand for online lessons.I'm really impressed & for me, this was worth the extra expense over a standard music stand.

Needed this for a smooth jazz gig for the sheets that had the chord progressions, play list etc when my old stand broke! Simple to put together; height adjustment is a little limited. EASILY hold 3-4 sheets of music etc side by side; neat little storage section behind to place sheets in when you finish with one piece and move onto the next. Somewhat limited in height adjustment, but very sturdy! Pricey for a music stand but the quality is excellent and the unit is incredibly well built and stable! Perfect for what I needed.

It is rock solid with the 2 bases, I love the under storage shelf, great for multiple mouthpieces when I'm testing them out with different reeds. I use it in my practice room, it doesn't swivel, it's just strait ahead. It is huge strong, I have multiple music books stacked on top and it continues to be sturdy.

Since my years in college I have noticed a marked inconsistency in the quality of Manhasset stands, from stand to stand, particularly when it comes to the issue of pulling the stand up or down. In my case, since this stand has two bars, the left one is way too stiff, and the right one just right. As a result it is very difficult to pull the stand up and down, so I just keep it up all the time. No amount of book weight that I put on it affects it, I have to bear down very heavily on it to make it go down, and pull very hard to make it come up, but mostly it is the left bar that is affected. I am very hesitant to try to fix it for fear that it will become mushy, like I have noticed in a few Manhasset stands before. As I said, this issue varies a lot from stand to stand. If I had a choice I would avoid Manhasset stands, but I wanted the conductor stand with two bars, no other company makes it like that, I felt I could not trust single bar stands to handle the weight of a ton of music. This stands performs when it comes to handling weight.

Great product would have liked a deeper ledge I like to pile a lot of music on my stand. Bought this stand for my practice and teaching studio works really great make sure you use the tolls recommended or your going to ruin it. O and get ready its really big and yes tall enough to use the stand in a standing position as I always do.

I had a version of this with one leg. And yes, it was gimpy. Having two supports makes a huge difference in terms of the amount of weight (music) it can hold. I also love the slot just below the stand - perfect for pencils, holding my small metronome, reeds and cork grease!!

The "desk" is wide enough to hold 4 8-1/2" x 11" sheets with about a 3/4" overlap, or with no overlap and only an inch or so extending past the edges of the stand. The desk is also a couple of inches taller than an ordinary stand. If you examine the photo carefully you can see that the stand has a double lip. However, these shelves aren't quite as deep as on the standard Manhasset stand - the upper is about 1-1/2" and the lower is about 1-3/4".There is also a sort of "pocket" on the back side, about the size of a standard music stand and a couple of inches deep. However, it would be hard to reach from the front of the stand. (At sitting height you could stand up and bend over it, but at standing height you would have to grope blindly, or walk around the stand.)The double foot makes the stand very stable. The way the desk is mounted in front of the pocket means whatever you put on it has more leverage at the pivot, so a notebook or two will make the desk tilt toward you. You can fix this by tightening the bolts on the pivots slightly. (Careful - they squeeze a plastic sleeve that you don't want to crack.)You need an 11/16" wrench or (socket wrench) and a largish screwdriver to assemble the stand, and a couple of 1/2" wrenches/sockets if you need to tighten the pivots. Only the most rudimentary mechanical skills are needed. It's big... think in advance where you're going to put it.

I'm really impressed with the quality of this stand. One thing out of place is the plastic holes the rods go into...hope its doesn't snap under the weight of my manuscripts. Apart from that, I'll buy one more for outdoor activities. Thanks 😊 Manhasset.

Lo uso para estudiar. Admite partituras de gran formato, sueltas o encuadernadas en forma de libro, puedo colocar varias a la vez. Lo mejor de lo mejor. Soporta todo sin temblar.

I love this stand , but as a classical guitar player , I have converted this stand with shorter concertino post.
