None of the lamp rods thread deep enough to make the two ends connect - see picture. The connectors are 3/8 to 1/2 too long and cutting them is near impossible as they are threaded...

I cobbled these together with another canopy system to bring a lamp down a bit off a 10' ceiling. It was difficult assembling them because the threads were rough. I used some grade 8 hardware to run over the connectors and in the pipes as thread chasers. That with a few drops of machine oil got everything spinning smoothly making the rest of the install pretty standard. It's all good now but I didn't appreciate the extra work.
