Seems to work fine except in my case. The prior home owner opted for plaster/lath walls. Seems like this device cannot see through the plaster lath to find the studs. I will continue to test the product and edit my review if I can get it to work with my walls.

For the money, this is a great tool to have if one is looking for more than just a single-mode electronic Stud Finder. The ability to search and identify Metal Piping, Active Current Wiring, and Wall Studs, in addition to Audio Alerts and Deep Penetration modes, is what makes this a prized tool for DIYers.I personally use a small-medium sized strong magnet to locate nails that have been used in drywall applications. This elementary process has worked great for simple tasks but identifying a metal pipe location or live wiring that has been covered by drywall or any other hardened surface tends to be difficult if not using a tool such as this Mecurate 5-in1 Stud Finder tool.The learning process, although detailed, is simple to follow if one reads the instruction page and/or watch the short video that is on Amazon’s Product Information page. Once perfected the process is simple and accurate and saves time and money, especially if one were to make a costly mistake by not using a specialized tool for confirming important location values. The cost alone for repairs outweighs any considerations for not owning an electronic device such as this one.

Marked where stud said was located. Drilled small hole with impact drill to ensure stud was accurately located. It was more than an inch off of being accurate. Do not buy or use if you're a professional that wants work done safely and correctly.

I don't know what I ever did without this stud finder! The old-fashioned kind just never worked well for me. There's a bit of a learning curve with this one, just make sure you follow the instructions for how to initially line it up. It's super accurate at finding studs, and it will even help you find the center of the stud if that's important to you for hanging something really heavy. The screen is nice and bright and easy to read, which is appreciated. I haven't tried the features yet for it to find metal beams, pipes, or live wires, but I really appreciate that it has this many different options all in one compact handheld tool. I'm not much of a do-it-yourselfer, but this is a big help to make me a lot more handy around the house. Recommended!

This thing works as advertised. I was using it on 5/8 drywall and it worked great. You see exactly where the wires and studs are. I haven't used it around any copper or water lines so I can't speak on that but it does work great when you're around wires and definitely finds the studs easily. Well worth the money

I haven't bought a new stud finder in probably a decade. They've definitely improved them. I've been able to use this on drywall and wood panelling without any issues. The display is bright and easy to see. You can find the edges and center of a stud. There's deep scan, metal, wiring, etc options that all seem to work well enough. Sometimes it got confused which direction the stud was but it would always show the edge and center of wood studs. This comes with the battery and a drawstring storage bag.

Seems to work well. It will take awhile to learn how to use all the features. Back light is nice and bright and tone is easy to hear.

Battery bran new battery it was very low.Lumpy . My son told me battery is ready to exploded so hecwent to buy a new batteryTomorrow I will tes. I do update if it's works. Or doesn't workI did test it. Deep stud light doesn't light upIt won't find stud wood deep into wallI dont recommend this stud finderBattery going to exploded, and second light doesn't work.
