Excellent made tap I used it for cutting new threads in an aluminum engine case specifically on an 4 wheeler where someone broke the bolt hole slam off. I drilled deeper using a 5mm drill bit keeping it straight. Then using the 6mm tap going foward a few turns then reverse and cleaning the thread shavings in between, also use 10w30 engine oil worked great for me just a few drops per time. Quality at a great price, how often can you say that.

I used these for cutting new and cleaning the threads on my RC Rock Crawler, and they have worked great on aluminum and plastics!

The thread tap kit I have missing M4 size and this is the perfect add-on to me, it works with my existing tap kit tool without any issues, it cut PLA very easy and works well. Overall, nice product.

One unit broke when re-threading the first aluminum blind nut. Second unit complete the other three units I needed to do.

Nothing to dislike. I use these mainly for Aluminum Heatsinks or electronic chasis threading ( also often aluminum ) and as such I cannot give an opinion on them in regards to Steel. For what I use them on they work great so far. Mind you I've only used one of them a few times ( probably 6 or 7 times ) on some Aluminum Heatsinks where they do a good job and don't clog too bad. Keep in mind that Aluminum has a real tendency to clog taps.Look at the image to see how I often use these. My advice for this type of work is to use a drill and DON'T try to backup or stop to break and clear chips. Not with aluminum ! I like to use the hand drill on low speed. If you stop or backfeed, you're more likely to clog and make terrible threads. I rarely thread steel but when I do this advice does NOT apply.

Sometimes you can tell a lot about taps simply by how they are finished ground and marked. Some inexpensive taps in the finer metric sizes are coarsely ground and actually neck down to form a weak section before the thicker shank. These triple-flute HSS taps at least cosmetically have the finely finished appearance of much more expensive American-made taps. I tested one of the M3 taps in 6061 aluminum and it cut cleanly without excessive force all the way to depth. I can't attest to the long-term durability, but at two for $7.99 they seem far nicer than I would find at a hobby shop or hardware store. Sometimes the cheap blister-pack carded taps even when brand new feel like they aren't even cutting and instead are trying to roll-form the threads in softer materials. The pair come in a large snap-lid plastic box which could probably use a separator to keep them from touching each other. Otherwise, these are pretty nice for the price.

I got this to replace my broken M3 set I went through, and it's just a cost of doing business to keep replacing them. These look good, arrived fairly quick and with no damage, and have a place to clamp in your tap tool at the end. They fit an M3 as far as I can tell, so no issues there. These work fine, I'm sure they'll last about as long as any other like this, so no complaints here.
