Update: I only use them when I go out of town. the chickens eat too much and one tube only last me 3 days with 4 chickens. 6.5 lbs of food would normally last me 6 days. it is a good product and I use them several times per year.I was going to build this myself using items from homedepot. It cost about the same to buy it, so why waste my time and energy. better to buy it. just installed it in the corner of the chicken cage, to a metal pole. used zip ties and worked fine. now I only need to mix up feed for the chicks every 4-5 days instead of twice per day. I mix in the grit, herbs, feed and oyster shells, stir it up and then dump into the feeder. works good and easy to setup. plus this is basically weatherproof.

This works pretty well if you cover the feed side at night. (Also helps keep critters from eating it) Moisture will collect in the elbow if left open. We have ours installed in our covered run and for the most part have not had any issues with it.

This was easy to install. I’ve had the opportunity to use it a few months before reviewing and my only complaint is that the chickens do knock the feed out of this feeder. The only reason there is “no waste†as this description suggests is because my chickens are pigs and they eat all the scratch they knock out of the feeder onto the ground. But other than that, it keeps the feed dry, I placed the opening underneath the coop and the fill opening on the outside wall of the coop, easy to fill up too.

I haven’t put out yet but super easy to assemble. I purchased not only to save food from being all over run, but to secure access to feed from Rats.. I misread or figured it came with a Cover/lid for where feed comes out. This only has cover/lid where feed goes in. Is there a Cover/lid that can be bought separately for feed opening? We’re going to see if we can make one, but feel the Company should’ve thought the whole design/purpose through better! Do design perfectly, but stops short of giving a cover for keeping night time critters looking for food out? Smh.

I love this contraption! We can go out of town and rest assured that our chickens have fresh food and don't run out while we're away.

Without a doubt....sad to say this is the worst feeder I have. It is not curved enough to keep the chickens from dragging all the feed out with their feet. What a mess and huge amount of waisted feed.
