We are four days of use and more and more impressed. The unit is the most compact model we have used for the capacity, and therefore space, that it can dehumidify. It is relatively quiet and dependable, having run essentially non-stop so far. We have tried emptying the unit as it fills and also using the hose into a pump to run truly non-stop. Either well works well and would be a good choice depending on your situation. It provided very clean water for our plants when we emptied the unit and the pump option keeps it running all the time and eliminates the "chore" of manually emptying the unit. Our last three unit from various manufacturers lasted less than 2 years so we chose this one based on reliability but still purchased an optional 4 year warranty and will be very surprised if we do not use it. BTW, I set this up and started it with only the quick set-up guide; in other words, very easy to get started but that may come from years of using different units.

I live in Florida and our humidity stays between 65-75% during the day and 80-100% at night.I originally bought this because we ended up having water come into our house twice with the last two tropical systems (Ian & Nicole) and my parents had 1.5' of water in their house. So I bought three of these to help dry out my own house and then used these to dry out theirs. These little guys are amazing! My house was dry within a day, and my parents were completely dried within a six days of use (and after removal of drywall, carpet, etc).I'm now using two to help suppliemnt my A/C. I keep one in the garage and the other upstairs. My garage stays at about 45% humidity running the unit off and on throughout the day and night. The inside of the house stays a consistent 40% when running the upstairs unit off and on through the day and night. They aren't quiet, even the low setting is a little loud for my taste when standing next to the unit. It's about the sound level of a box fan. So as long as it's not in the same room, you can hardly hear it.The app is fantastic and I love the integration with Google. In fact, I had one set up in my living room for a while and set up a routine in Google Home to shut it off when the TV turned on.The device is very smart. You can say how much water you want to collect before it shuts itself off and waits for you to empty it. Or, you can use continuous draining if you have drain nearby. Two of my units came with an additional pump to pump the water out that the bucket collects. However, I just simply empty the buckets - not too hard to do.They are moveable but a little on the heavy side even without water. But I love the bucket design and the handles are very strong and secure. They have a timer feature, but I haven't used it. I have used the auto on feature when the humidity reaches a certain level in the room. This works fantasticly well. I love knowing that the unit will dehumidify if my house gets high humidity but also won't overflow if it gets full.Overall I'd say these are fantastic devices. They're smart, a great form factor, easy to clean the filter, have lots of customizations available, and very easy to empty.

I started setting up the Midea Cube 50 pint dehumidifier with pump a few days ago. Since then, I've spent over 1 1/2 hours with Midea reps trying to get the pump to work. The written pump instructions are incomplete, incorrect, and misleading, and don’t allow you to set up the pump so it will work. (Note that my one-star rating is only because of the pump, my reason for buying this unit). The second Midea rep (Kiarra) acknowledged that the written instructions are wrong (specifically, 2nd bullet point under “pump drainingâ€, which applies only to continuous drain mode where no pump is needed). Besides that, the diagram for the pump indicator is wrong (pump indicator is actually on the bottom left of LED display); the instruction booklet’s diagram of the instruction panel doesn't show important words "(pump 3s)" underneath the "Fill Level" button. Furthermore, the need to hold the “Fill Level†button for 3 seconds to make the pump work is not mentioned anywhere in the written instructions. After putting me on hold, Kiarra had me try that – and then I noticed the wording. Holding down the “Fill Level†button for 3 seconds didn’t cause the pump image to appear. The written instructions said to hold the up and down arrow buttons for three seconds to activate the pump. I had tried that several times, including a couple of times with the first Midea rep and more times with Kiarra. While still in the chat, I decided to try something else, just on a whim. I unplugged the unit, waited a minute, plugged it back, and then pressed three buttons at the same time – the two up and down arrows and the “Fill Level†buttons. The pump image appeared. I thought my problems were solved and that the pump would now work. I asked Kiarra to tell the other Midea customer service reps about this. I told her I thought it was unfair of Midea to give its reps incomplete/wrong instructions because it made their jobs harder. It wasn’t a happy ending, though. The fact that the pump image appeared did not mean that the pump was working. I even left the unit running all night, hoping that maybe the pump would work if it were submerged in water. But it didn’t. So I dumped out the couple of gallons of water that had collected overnight and am letting it dry to return it.I really wanted the Midea Cube 50 pint dehumidifier with pump to work. I have another Midea dehumidifier with a bucket and it’s been great. I wanted a dehumidifier with a pump so I didn’t have to keep emptying the bucket. I was counting on Midea quality and am quite disappointed that the pump on the Midea cube model with pump simply doesn’t work I didn’t want to have to return the unit. It’s heavy to handle (over 40 lbs.) and getting it back in the box isn’t going to be easy. Rats!

¡Te vas a sorprender!

Large capacity, easily emptied and does it pull water out of the air!! We had a different MIDEO dehumidifier that failed just under a year after we bought it. It worked fabulously but sadly it stopped working. Through the AMAZON link to the supplier we reached out and received a full refund ... so it only made sense to buy another from MIDEA. Our daughter had previously bought this model and continues to really like it so we chose it. It is a little noisier than the previous model but it works great!!

Replacing my Bionaire PureQuiet unit which was sadly discontinued. The Midea does a good job but a little cumbersome removing the top section to empty the large bucket but the large bucket also means less times having to empty it. The noise level was important to me and is actually very acceptable. All in all it's a great unit and well worth the price. An update. I'm well into my first summer with this unit and it's actually much better than I had expected. I've had many dehumidifiers over the years but none would compare to this one. I'd give it an A+ if I could!
