I been adding tools to my tool box to do jobs around the house. This jig is perfect to make pocket holes to secure wood projects. The price was just right I wouldn’t have bought it if it was more expensive. Great tool, solid construction and easy to use.

This did the trick but won't last long. But for $10 you can't really complain about the cheap aluminum.I would absolutely buy again, and will need to for another project.I'm drilling 2x4's so I used a 2x offset to get the correct depth. Watch a number of youtube videos unrelated and it got it done. I would not buy this if doing fine wood working, the pictures of others say it all, the drill bits don't pre-drill the smaller holes and it binds up a lot and the aluminum wears pretty bad as I only drilled 40 holes and it looks torn up. You have to drill then clean a few times for each hole so if you're doing for a business or something to look pretty get another jig.The cost of the other alternatives are 3-4x this and I would buy another once this wears out. It does take extra time to secure as there are no cleats or anything to keep it from slipping and when anchoring it to the board but I put the drill on fast and let her rip.

I started off optimistic about this product but that didn't last. The instructions were vague so I had to go online to figure out how to set this jig but after doing as instructed the angle and depth weren right and after many tries all I did was make bad holes in some scrap wood and tore up the aluminum on the jig and quickly dulled the drill bits. I ended up just grabbing good drill bits and making my holes without the aid of the jig.

Wife purchased and said she didn't like it. It was hard to use. Had to add clamps fir her to drill counter sink slots in her cabinets.

Okay, let's get down to brass tacks... This is probably the cheapest pocket hole jig going, and, despite the reviews I decided to give it a shot.First of all, and this one is on me, I didn't take the time to properly assess the images. These are woodworking bits, not pocket hole bits. The main difference? A woodworking bit has a hard point about 1/8" long, which does not engage the wood before the main drilling bit - so not suitable for angle drilling, even with a high quality jig. A pocket hole bit has a pilot about 1/2" in length. So you will pay extra to get a suitable bit.I cheaped out and bought the cheapest pocket hole bit I could find, because of the overall cost (which is more than the kreg mini jig kit). This bit was either manufactured bent, or was bent during shipping, which resulted in about 2mm overall shift from the pilot. More on that later.Secondly,there are no instructions. Granted it is a fairly straightforward piece of kit, however, instructions can provide useful hints and tips... I did a search and found a video for general setup and use. Ironically, the person demonstrating it uses a pocket hole bit instead of the bits included. The kreg mini jig instructions detail where the jig should be placed based on the thickness of the wood used (rather helpful) as well as where the collar should be located to provide the best drill depth (this should have been my go-to from the beginning).So on to actually using the jig.... Following what I had seen in the video, I set everything up and started drilling.... The not so great bit did a number on the jig, but did manage to drill into the wood... 3 attempts yielded three completely different results, despite the same setup each time. Whilst I don't completely blame the jig for this, the lack of correct bits do not help matters at all.The mini kreg jig kit (MKJKIT), also purchased through Amazon was cheaper over all ($15.10 vs $12.93 + $7.43), had instructions and did exactly what it was supposed to do.Do yourselves a favor, spend just a little more and get something quality made (with everything you need from the get go)
