Our exclusive design features medical grade stainless steel with a Diamond Coated cutting surface that allows for even, smooth and precise filing that cuts and polishes all fret material types simultaneously. To enhance functionality, we designed the file with two types of non-marring safe edges: flat and slightly radiused. The handle's user-centered ergonomics is like no other and features thumb and finger grips with smooth transitions to naturally fit in your hand. This is a great file that is easy to use and did make a big difference in an acoustic guitar I had that had fret ends I thought could be smoother. The handle is ergonomic and two sides of the file are totally smooth, as is the tip, so you realize can’t damage your guitar as you use it. Just make sure to watch some videos so you get the angle right - you’re not supposed to file it flush. Also, they put an arrow on the handle to let you know which file side is the coarser side, but to be honest I found it confusing because the arrow pertains to how you’re holding the handle when it should have just pointed to the coarser side itself. It’s technically pointing towards one of the totally smooth “safe†sides. Music Nomad also sells a B-File with the wooden handle but that is really more for actual fret sprout, not smoothing out fret ends.

This is well thought out tool, essentially similar to other fret files. The innovation here is the handle, which would be great on a screwdriver, but since filing fret ends is a delicate business, I found I got better and more precise results my with my Stew Mac file which is smaller and held with your fingertips. I also found I could sense how much I was taking off the fret better with the conventional teeth of the Stew Mac file vs. the diamond surface on this file.Still, this is good tool and not overhyped like some other Music Nomad stuff. If you need a fret end file this is a perfectly good choice.

I use this in conjunction with the MusicNomad frets beveling tool, and they do an excellent job of getting the frets to ideal condition that's comfortable to play. The safety feature with the smooth sides makes it easier to use as you don't have to worry about accidentally taking off too much of the fretboard material.

Not the evenest coating or finest as it’s a bit coarse but it worked well enough and I was able to polish scratches out without taking too much extra time. For the money though I would say it was worth the cost as compared. Just not sure I couldn’t have done the same with a set of regular small files.
