Great for highlighting and even drawing if you’re really gentle. You can sharpen them with sand paper and gently draw or use shadows, highlights, etc. They are very thin, are made to break into smaller pieces. Nice and soft. Easy to use and work great!

This is great and draws so smoothly, it can break if you press too hard but other than that it is great and for the price, I would recommend you to get it.

I tested these and put them on paper for you to see. As I don’t know anything about charcoal. I’ve used it once and it was a lot more fine. Almost disintegrated in my hand. Which is what some people want. This charcoal doesn’t do that, but it does leave dust and things behind. So it’s not super solid or super … disintegratable?

Smooth all the way through. The core is not hard at all. These sticks are also fairly sturdy and not one was cracked when they arrived.
