They work well & supply just enough heat on cool evenings to promote germination. Typically my seeds germinate in 7 days on these mats. The cords are long and well bonded on the mat. Easy to clean & roll up for the next planting. They fit the 72 pod and two 36 pod seed trays perfectly.

First off, these are easy to use - just plug them in. Waterproof against the usual spills - good. Downside, although not to me cuz I like "simple" - there's no thermostat. The instructions say they warm up to 10 to 15 degrees above ambient temperature, which is fine for starting seedlings since I start them inside and the house doesn't get below 60 degrees. Two of the mats worked fine, but one got noticeably warmer, almost felt TOO warm for seedlings. It wasn't hot enough to cause a fire, just warm. I got around the problem by rotating my seedlings between the mats once daily. It also worked to unplug the mat and leave it off for a couple of hours. Even with the one mat that gets too warm, all in all, a good value for the price.

We use these heating mats Every Spring to start our garden seeds. Wow, the seeds pop up quickly! I am able to start the seeds much earlier, let them grow a bit then put them into the garden. It gives the plants a big head start.
