About this item

  • 【Detection of Methane】It is mainly used for detecting methane in natural gas (alarm within 10 seconds). (Note: After the first power-up, please allow 3 minutes for warm-up before operation). Alarm concentration: 8%LEL.
  • 【High Sensitivity Sensor】 : The gas alarm is equipped with highly sensitive semiconductors that guarantee excellent detection accuracy and sensitivity, providing users with more reliable safety, which means that this RV and propane gas alarm can quickly respond to changes in methane gas, whether it is a sudden gas leak or continuous low concentration accumulation. Our sensors are quick to respond, ensuring that the user can take timely action. (Alarm concentration error: ±3%LEL)
  • 【Audible and Visual Alarm】: When the rv methane alarm detects that methane in the air exceeds safe levels, it emits an audible alarm of 85 decibels and a flashing red indicator light. Our alerts ensure that users remain on high alert when methane exceeds safe levels. Users can not only hear sirens, but also visually confirm the presence of danger by flashing red lights. In addition, the product is equipped with a mute/self-check button to eliminate alarms. (In the normal detection state, the green indicator blinks every 60s)
  • 【Exclusive Exterior Design】 : Easy to install and durable design makes it super easy and convenient to install. Flame retardant ABS plastic, easy to wipe clean. Use in the kitchen or camper. The product manual comes with detailed installation location instructions, which you can adjust as needed. The exquisite look is the only one on the market.
  • 【One More Safety Echanism】 : The detector is widely used in families, kitchens, garages, RV, camping restaurants, hotels and so on. This is an essential family member for your home and RV trip. The effective service life of the detector is 10 years, and the yellow light will flash when it expires, reminding you to replace it in time, so that the detector can bring you peace of mind for a long time.
  • 【First Unique Design】The Natural Gas Alarm use of low-power battery design, different from the market plug-in/wired models, can be widely used in various scenarios. In addition, the Gas Monitor Sensor is equipped with a 433Mhz wireless receiver that can be linked to any alarm host adapted to 433Mhz.
  • 【Test】If testing the product, in order to reduce the rate of false positives: do not test with a lighter, the gas concentration and retention time of the output of the lighter are not enough to trigger the alarm in a short time, please use natural gas (in a bag) to test the product.

Product Description

  • The alarm is installed with batteries, and the indicator light flashes for 30 seconds. When the cycle flashing ends, it means that the alarm enters the normal monitoring state.Warming up ensure detector's working properly and accurately.

  • To reduce the rate of false positives: Please do NOTTTT use a lighter to test, the gas concentration output from the lighter is not enough to trigger the alarm concentration, please use natural gas (in a bag) to test the product.

  • When the alarm detects a gas leak, when the concentration exceeds the alarm threshold, the red light flashes quickly, and the buzzer buzzes. At this time, press the "self-check/silence" button to eliminate the alarm sound.

  • If the detector life yellow indicator blinks, it indicates that the sensor life expires, please replace the detector in timeThe detector can not be unlimited life, recommended effective service life of 5 years.

  • The suitable location for detecting natural gas is installed 0.3~1.0 meters below the ceiling, close to the gas source, but 1.5 meters away from the gas source radius.

New York City Local Law 157 requires that the device is "listed and labeled with either UL 1484 or UL 2075 as applicable. Listed and labled means by a national certified testing agency like UL or ETL which then "lists" the device and puts their offical label on it. This Aotiqual device says on the front "Standard UL 1484:2016" and on the back it lists the standard, 1484, but it's NOT listed and labeled by an independent testing laboratory. This device doesn't comply with local law 157. See photo before you buy. I took a picture of the more expensive DeNova Detect with a 10 year battery and showed its ETL "listed" which confirms it's been tested and conforms to ul standard 1484.

Although methane (natural gas) and propane have a strong, penetrating odor, there are a handful of scenarios where a combustible gas detector (but not a CO or smoke detector) would help prevent a major risk:1) someone in the house bumps on a gas burner or oven without the gas supply being ignited, filling the kitchen with methane when no one is nearby;2) an old 20 lb. rental propane tank develops a leaky valve, filling the garage with gas with no one around;3) a leak from a natural gas line drifts into your basement and no one is nearby. This exact scenario has happened in a handful of older urban areas recently, resulting in the explosion of one or more houses.None of the above scenarios would cause a smoke detector or CO detector to alarm. But a combustible gas detector would. Hopefully a gas detector with a loud enough alarm to alert someone in the house. 😊I tested this detector back to back with a handful of other (plug-in not battery) combustible gas detectors by holding it over my gas stove and briefly turning on the gas without igniting it.All the other detectors immediately alarmed; this detector had no response—at first.A few seconds after moving it away from the stove it alarmed. Not sure why it has a short delayed response, but I tested it a couple more times and it has the same exact delayed response.Maybe something in its firmware to prevent false alarms from brief exposure to gas? In any event, it detected methane consistently and reliably.I’m wondering if some of the other reviewers who were unable to get their devices to alarm may have been dealing with this delayed response rather than defective detectors.I also wonder if the reviewer who said that the detector mount barely fits the unit and that the batteries prevented the mount from being installed may have been dealing with user error. The mount installs easily with a “one way only” slot that prevents mis-installation. Likewise, the batteries have a two-stage install slot. When pushed all the way in the batteries fit perfectly. The alarm is as loud as the alarm on a typical home smoke detector. The advantage of a battery-powered gas detector over outlet powered gas detectors is that methane will tend to rise, so a detector mounted near the ceiling will be more effective than one mounted lower in the room at an electrical outlet. Battery powered means more flexibility on the mounting location.Useful life is advertised as 10 years,. The manual, in an apparent abundance of caution, says to change it every five years. Since it has an “end of useful life” flashing light built in, I’m not sure why one would need to replace it so early if it’s mounted such that the display of its useful life indicator can be viewed easily.Material and build quality are similar to smoke detectors sold at big box stores. The manual is in English, but poorly translated. It is decipherable. All in all, this detector can add capabilities to your home risk detection systems that are not otherwise covered by other devices.

It's very easy to install put the batteries in, they are included. BUT The power button that lets you know it's working. You have to stand there and watch it because every 90 seconds is when a tiny green light goes off to tell you, it's on. Not very practical to stand there. And wait for the power light to come on every ninety seconds. And Im unable to tell if it's on silence or not. So I have to keep . checking it. Would not recomend

I received one of these detectors and tested it as they say first with a lighter, and then eventually worked my way up into opening up my propane, gas stove, and sitting it right over top and the alarm never sounded! I returned my initial detector thinking that there must’ve been something wrong with it. They sent me another detector and it also failed to work. I put it through the same test. This product does not seem to work and it would be dangerous to install it in a house or RV where you would be relying on it.

I'm not sure how to test these alarms but it has the battery it came with and I see the lights so I assume it works. I did press test and it's quite loud. Maybe at some point I'll put it near some natural gas and see what happens. Either way, seems to be priced appropriately.
