This unit was a replacement for a 2006 Tioga LP detector. No hassle to install. It comes with three face plates for the type of installation that you need. It’s made well, and has ten year battery. I had to figure out the wiring as the coach had three wires and this unit comes with two. But I went online and found schematic for coach and got it installed.

Other than real expensive models all of these seem to be mounted horizontal. Some RV manufactures use a narrow model because of where they are mounted. Fortunately these can be mounted 90 degrees with out affecting operation to fit on narrow walls.

I purchased the "propane/LP" only version. That was my oversight. However, I will just install a CO/Smoke alarm. Which makes more sense to me.Installed without an issue, even with the poor instructions.Unit goes through a "warm up" period. Which I assume is to establish a baseline for reference based on it current environment.This is an explosive gas alarm. We know we can test the alarm with a button push but does the sensor actually work? I tested mine with a butane lighter, letting out gas and blowing out the flame. The sensor triggered an alarm. You can test your units sensor this way to ensure you are actually safe in the even of a gas leak. Maybe try varying distance to see how well it's working.Overall, item operates as intended and I am confident that it will produce an alarm during a time of need.

These alarms have a shelf life of about 5 years, and will automatically stop working and beep incessantly to let you know they need to be replaced. This until was a quick drop-in replacement for the one that was in my RV. Works great and no issues so far.

I was surprised to learn that these have a shelf life. My detector that came with the trailer began beeping and needed to be replaced. There is a note on the front of these that tells you they need to be replaced at a certain # of years of service. Mine was good for 84 months. So, I replaced it with this unit. I like the numeric display (the factory one didn't have one), and it fit in the same location which was super easy for replacing the faulty one. It literally took 5 minutes to change. The wire connector on this unit makes splicing it in a snap. I do not like doing any electrical work and this was not a challenge at all. Difficulty 1/10. If I can do it, anyone can.Unit seems to be operating normally. No issues whatsoever. I recommend this detector over the "cheap" one that comes with your RV.
