A house in my niece's neighborhood exploded, killing a teenager. The local fire department went around to all the houses in her neighborhood, explaining that a natural gas leak traveled from the street through the earth, which removes the mercaptan, the distinct "rotten egg" odor they inttentionally add to gas so people can smell a gas leak, which is why nobody smelled it in their homes. They told people about this type of sensor which works for both natural gas and propane gas. I bought 2 of these-one for the house and one for the RV. I will have to return the one for the RV because this product plugs into an electrical outlet, and unless we're in it, the electricity is not turned on. My heart goes out to the family that lost their child. Don't let this happen to you-get one for your home.

After reviewing many Detectors I settled on this one. No fancy app that only works on 2.4 ghz not the new 5 ghz which most people have these days. Just a plain and simple Detector which works great! Checked with a gas lighter after blowing it out and allowing the Raw Gas to enter the the Detector in the entrance grill. Instantly the Detector sounded the alarm! I put one in the laundry room by by my Gas Dryer and one by my stove in the Kitchen. Don't hesitate to buy!

It sets up quickly and so easily. My hope's are that this will work as expected in the worst situation if that would ever occur. This gives me a chance to avoid a severe and dangerous catastrophe. My life and my family's life is well worth any cost to avoid that from happening.

Seems to work well and is reasonably priced. Supposed to detect CO2, natural gas and propane leaks.
