A surprising well made product for the price. I am using this for my photo work and it is really fun to work with in that it enables me to use it like a gimbal for wildlife or a two way head for landscapes. At this low price point, one can try it for photography and not feel the pinch.

This is a big heavy tripod head, but in this case it is what I need for a big camera set up. Its pretty fluid and easy to use. It needs to be on a solid heavy tripod in my opinion. Not for carrying around on a hike etc in my opinion but fine for stationary locations.

Typically, cheaper tripod heads won't be as smooth or feature-filled; not the case here. It's easy to use, intuitive in its design, and beginner friendly with it's price. It can handle larger camera rigs and let's you adjust it for heavier or lighter setups for panning. It's medium weight compared to it's competitors but worth the compromise for it's price point. It's built well and provides a smooth operation for its price. It's not the best I've had, but so much better than it's competition for the money.

I am pleased with the compact size and the operation of this fluid head tripod mount.I use it for wildlife photography with my Z8 and 500PF lens on a small Neewer tripod for a compact setup while kayaking, or on a large tripod with my 180-600 for land only occassions.

I bought this head for two reasons: first, I needed a fluid head for shooting video with my new Nikon Z7 camera and, second, the head on my existing tripod was failing. I installed this head with no problems and found that it seems to be of high quality build. That said, this head is NOT for professional use if you need something that does smooth pans. I will say it tilts very smoothly but the pan isn't much better (it's a little better) than a regular photo tripod head. That said, I am happy with it because I got what I paid for. I am looking forward to using this at family get togethers and my kids' school concerts. If you need something that is cheap and functional for your personal use, look no further. If you are a professional looking for professional results, you'd probably be better off looking elsewhere.

I've begun doing more and more video recording and live streaming. I have a few tripods but I didn't have a good fluid head. I got a mini fluid head from Smallrig but it didn't pan nearly as smoothly as I had hoped. Then, I saw a YouTube video where a videographer recommended the Neewer Fluid Head as a great inexpensive model. The model he referenced was no longer available but this one looked the same and the reviews were very positive. I took a chance on it and am really happy I did! This works very smoothly. It's really solid! In fact, it is so solid and substantial that I had to pull out my old heavy-duty aluminum Amvona tripod to use with it because my carbon fiber travel tripods were dwarfed by this head! The quick release plate is a little long to use with my mirrorless camera as this is designed for true video recorders (as opposed to hybrid cameras) but it hasn't been an issue. I did notice that someone complained that the camera blocked the knob that tightens the release plate onto the head but, apparently, he didn't realize that the knob pulls out and can be repositioned. All in all, I think this is a remarkable fluid head for less than $50 (when on sale, which it seems to be regularly).

Although this is a very nicely designed head, it's not heavy duty enough for the specified 17 lb load capacity. It's already "jiggly" before the load reaches ten pounds unless you are on a wide lens. Had to send it back.

I remember back in film school we used to race to be the first to get the good tripods with fluid heads. The inclusion of an oil-based damping system makes the difference between precise cinematic camera movements and amateur-looking moves. Back then fluid heads started at 1500 dollars and went up from there. Here we are in 2024 with an excellent one for under 150 dollars!Since fluid heads use an oil for the smooth movements, they sometimes need to be worked back and forth for a while in all directions to loosen up the mechanism before shooting - especially after being stored or when the temperatures are cold. I suspect that any reviews that have said that the head is not smooth or too stiff are due to not “warming up” the head first.Right out of the box, this all-aluminum head impressed me. The 22 pound weight capacity is way more than I will ever need for my little DSLR setup, even if I want to attach a monitor, light, large battery, and sound gear. I like that this head has a built-in bubble level since it is so important to achieve level frames. The smooth, precise movement on all axes is amazing for such an inexpensive fluid head. Adjustments are easy, even the smallest ones. Recommended.

I've only just received this and I haven't used the head in anger, so these are essentially first impressions. It feels very well made. Solid, with just the right degree of resistance for me. There's a pleasant 'springiness' to the movement. The QR place has a double action requirement for release. I much prefer this to a full quick release as out in the field, it's easy to slip. I've never dropped a camera, and wish this to continue. But this leads to the one criticism I have, which in fact will not affect me all that much, but might be a problem for some. It has its own style of quick release plate. It seems a waste when ARCA size would do just as well. A marketing ploy? I have a camera for video and one for stills, so I'll fix the base to my video camera and won't need to fix to to, say, my monopod all that often.I've given the head five stars despite my criticism, purely because it doesn't affect me, but it's best to be aware. Still, I recommend it.If it fails to live up to first impressions, I'll be back.
