The indicator itself seems accurate and easy to use with the provided mounting equipment.Given that the dial is only 1 1/4", it can be a bit hard to read if your eyesight is going out like mine.But all in all, it functions as you would expect.

Not something to pass on to posterity but, it sure is accurate and scaled to the profits I'm making on my project-none.

The dial indicator is accurate enough for my use as a hobby machinist. The problem is the dovetail mounting stud is made too wide and sloppy so it will not hold the indicator rigidly. The dovetail slot cut into the mounting stem is so wide that even when tightened down the here is a lot of movement of the gauge. This makes accurate measurements impossible. When mated with a better dovetail mount the movement stops and the accuracy increases drastically. The indicator is a good device for the price but the poorly made dovetail detracts from the overall quality. The price is a bargain if you overlook the dovetail issue. I recommend you pay a little more and get a better unit.

...For the price, this thing has been great.I bought it, reluctantly, in place of a high price name brand in order to save money, with the intent of upgrading ASAP after starting my own shop. This unit has worked so well so far I haven't had the need to upgrade, I've been able to spend on other lacking tooling and expenses in the shop instead.It's light weight and a little cheap looking, but has held up under coolant and other chemicals. It's accurate. It's a little jumpy but readable. Has the same adjustments and features as the big name brand I was using at my last shop.
