It did exactly what I needed to do and identified that I had a broken wire in my Cat5e and saved me countless amount of time troubleshooting. Great product great value. Instructions could be more clear but that’s minor nit.

A very simple continuity tester. Worked exactly as expected to help me confirm my Ethernet cables worked. It won't give you loss readings or anything else beyond a simple continuity test. But I wouldn't expect that at this price.

I used this tool for two things:1) To help identify a number of Ethernet 5e cable locations, i.e., this wire went to the den, bedroom, etc. It was trial and error, but far quicker & easier than without it. And,2) To determine if my wiring had been connected correctly and consistently for all 8 cabling wires per location on each end. Fortunately, everything was confirmed correct.Very simple to understand and use, and extremely helpful, especially considering the price to value.

It helps to distinguish one ethernet line from another, and confirmed the end to end connectivity. It is simple to use and is inexpensive.

I ran many Ethernet cables in my shop for ip security cameras, putting the ends on all of these cables. Had one cable that I thought I was having issues with, so I cut the ends of and put new on again. Still had some issues with communications. Ordered this, should everything was connected and working. It was a camera that was having intermediate internal connectivity issues. Saves a lot of guess work!

This is a great little tester.It has sets of lights on each side.As it tests the individual wires, it will flash the light green, when the circuit checks out OK.I just used it and all the lights but #2 flashed, meaning that wire has no connection so my cable is bad.Yesterday, as I was testing a cable I just made, left side flashed lights from 1 thru 8, but the right side flashed from 8 to 1. It was telling me that one of the connectors was installed backwards.I checked and sure enough. I did install one of them with wires in reverse order.By the way. Someone trashed it in the review and criticized all the flashing lights. Too bad that someone did not read the instructions.
