This tool works great for prying on lower control arms made of thicker material. Unfortunately it doesn't work too well on control arms that are thinner due to the distance between the pins. It is quite heavy duty though and after multiple uses is still in good condition.

I recently purchased this control arm tool. I have been using the hook style design for holding down control arms, but this new style is easier to use and feels way more secure to hold. The quality of this tool is just as good as name brand, the welds look complete, the steel is thick, and the finish is solid. You can use this with the ratchet so there is no need for a prybar and risk of it slipping off!

I’ve got this primarily to bend and pry things similar to fubar. The tool is very chunky and holds my entire weight of about 170lbs no problem. The pins look like they were chopped off an 1/4†ratchets, but whatever. There is s nice ring to the metal, so there’s a chance it was hardened as well. There are no welding defects mentioned by other reviewers. You can use either of teo openings with an 1/2†drive or breaker bar.I’m sure this will do the job just fine as long as you don’t try to put all weight on the tips of the pins. If you do intend to use this for control arms - keep in mind you would need the vehicle on a lift to have enough clearance for your breaker bar. You would also probably need a helper pulling on this tool away from the knuckle while you try to align the bolts on the knuckle.

So this saved us during a recent front end job of my CRV. I gave it a try and it worked great. This little guy saved the joints so I didn't have to replace them. Last time I had to cut the joint off with a grinder. This saved time and parts.
