I am so excited to finally have the pinpoint metal detector it's for a beginner which is me!! I buried a quarter about 2 feet down and it found it so at least I know it works lol .. I have taken it to the beach a few times and used it with the new scoop and I am having so much fun treasure hunting. This is going to be some pastime fun for sure, I would recommend everyone try it at least once I hope you have as much fun as our family has.

Pin pointer works but is not very consistent on the signal in close proximity to the find. Some times it gives no signal and sometimes it picks up 1†+ away for the object. It works but not consistently.

This isn't for the professional treasure hunter but is a fun addition to your beach outing. The instructions say it is waterproof down to about 3 meters (9 ft), so you don't have to worry about holding it under the water as you search. Looking at the seal, it could probably go deeper. The detection zone extends from the end and along the wand's length. This lets you sweep a more extensive area looking for "treasure." I tested it with my gold wedding band and a quarter. It picked both up at about 2". It should be enough to find that lost ring at the beach. You can't hear much underwater, so the vibration notification mode is a good feature.

This Pin Pointer works very well. I've tested it on several different metals including the metal in my back LMAO and it did NOT disappoint.It's got about 6" distant detection. I love the fact that it has a LCD with Vibrate and/or sound. Being partial deaf it's very difficult for me to hear high pitch noises which this device has, so I turned on vibrate without the sound and it's very effective on detecting, descent vibration mode upon detection of metal.This is going to be a great asset to my Metal Detecting. Who needs to spend Hundreds on a Pin Pointer when you can get something cheaper that does the very same thing.Recommended for anyone that don't want to spend hundreds on brand name pin pointer that's on a budget like myself.I think what would make this even Better, would be if it had a Rechargeable batter with a Type-C port to charge it. This would cut back on the batteries being consumed while Detecting. It would cut back on the need to replace batteries when they die. if you had a Portable Battery back up, you could plug it in and charge while using it.

Learned about these watching a TV show about metal detecting. I am brand new to the hobby so a novice at best. From a novice prospective, this pointer seems to work well. It helps reduce the time spend looking through the soil for your target. I can't speak to how it compares against other devices as I don't own any others. I think it works well since it helps me pinpoint my targets after I start digging. More experienced detector people may have different feedback. But for me, its great. Holds a charge a long time and is easy to hear.
