For some reason, the adhesive on the stock mirror glass failed, and the thing flew off at an awkward time. No one is going to stop on the freeway in rush hour traffic to retrieve a mirror. Dealer price for a replacement was astronomical, so, Amazon to the rescue, and I figured I'd give this a try. It's a perfect fit, was easy to install, though it's essential to be careful with alignment before pressing it down, and so far, shows no sign of detaching. For less than 1/4 the dealer price, my money was well spent.

Not sure why the mirror fell out of my door mirror, but this was an easy replacement. Very disconcerting to drive without a driver's side door mirror! Fit my 2013 Tiguan

Who knew side mirrors can just fall off when you're on the highway? I was very happy that Amazon could get this to me in 2 days, because it feels very dangerous to drive without my driver's side mirror (although not strictly illegal in Oregon, I learned). For those 2 days, I used one of those super-cheap blind spot stick-on mirrors you can buy anywhere (next to the fuzzy dice at Walmart), but I was happy when I could put the real one on.I can say I disagree with the reviews saying the get a warped or distorted image. The reflection seems perfectly good with mine, and it looks the same as the OEM mirror. That said, some of the reviews talk about it falling off or discoloring with heat or age, and seeing as I put the thing on 5 hours ago in good weather, I can't speak to that. I'll update if the thing falls off or disintegrates when I try to heat it.

It fits and install was simple this is just the mirror with an adhesive pad this is not the backing so the backing must still be attached. Works with the defrost. Do not install in the cold
