Aquarium Heater Size Guide
To calculate the required power for the aquarium heater, follow these steps:
- Measure the actual dimensions of the fish tank, including the length (L), width (W), and the height of the water level (H).
- Use the following formula to calculate the required power: Required Power = (L × W × H / 231) × 5
Situations requiring a larger heater include no cover or near an external wall/door, room temp <65°F, and ≥15°F water temp increase.

Works great to heat up the water quickly and keep the tank the right temp. We use it on occasion to warm up the water we are mixing in with salt within a 7 gallon bucket. It took about 25-30 min to warm it to 75 degrees from about 50 degrees water. Also used daily for a 50 gallon tank and have had no issues.

This heater looks well made. I placed into my aquarium and plugged it in and everything seems to be working as it should. The digital temperature is easy to read and seems to be accurate as it is within 0.2 degrees of another digital thermometer placed about 8†from this one. Very satisfied with the product.

I like this heater a lot. After going through two heaters and having to make an emergency purchase, I’m glad I picked this one. I’ve only had it for a few days. I will update if something goes wrong.The model I got was the 50W one. It’s super small, so it fits perfectly in my 5.5 gal betts tank. It looks super nice against the back wall. Easy to use - plug it in and set to desired temperature.The only issue I had was the temperature accuracy. I have two thermometers in my tank - a digital one and a manual one. When I set the tank to 78F, they both read at 75F. I had to gradually adjust the temperature, raising it all the way to 82F in order to get the temperature to 78.5F. Just do gradual adjustments and monitor in order to get to desired temperature.Overall a good product; would recommend.

The first time I ordered this, it came shattered so was pretty disappointed. This second one I got arrived intact. I really like that this heater not only gives you the ability to set the exact temperature, but it also has a readable thermometer. The readable thermometer is really nice to have because you can tell the heater is working and its helpful for water changes.

Before putting this heater in my 10-gallon aquarium, I tested it in a 3-gallon bucket. The water came directly from the bathtub faucet, and was colder than room temperature, but not excessively cold as I'm in Southern California where pipes don't freeze and winters aren't that cold. I put a fishtank thermometer in the water, a regular glass one, to compare the reading with the heater thermostat. I left the heater in the water for over 12 hours and the water didn't heat appreciably at all. I felt a tiny bit of heat when I put my hand over the heater but that's it. Over the course of the day, I swirled the water around in the bucket a few times to circulate it and expose more water to the heater, and each time I did that the thermostat reading for the heater changed to a wildly innaccurate reading. I wondered if maybe the reading was going to be consistently higher or lower a few degrees, but the readings didn't track that way and I could find no logic to the error. At the end of the day the water was still just as cold as it was in the beginning--no doubt the room temperature had decreased over that period of time, so maybe the heater did a little actual heating? But not enough to keep my fish warm. I returned the product and do not want a replacement as it seems like too great a risk to try this one again.

I just installed the heater in my 30 gallon tank. Setting the temperature was a breeze and suction cup are very secure. The temperature was rose to exactly where I set it in a short amount of time. Tempura stays consistent unlike many tank heaters. Very pleased! Highly recommend!!

So when it comes to heaters for aquariums, finding a quality one these days is always a challenge. Even more so when you're looking for something small that can do the job. As I've used Nicrew lights for the past 5 years in my fishroom, I figured I'd give their little heater a shot.I initially purchased one of these for a mini paludarium and tested it for a month prior to commiting to tucking it in it's final location. The heater itself does a wonderful job. Remember, it's only a 50W so it is limited to the overall volume of water it can heat. On top of that, it's a mini/micro heater, so the surface area of the heater isn't ideal if you need to heat up a tank up quickly. That said, the heater does a great job of holding temps for the 5 gallons of water in my paludarium and it's nice to be able to see the digital read out of the settings rather than be stuck to fiddling with dial based heaters.If you're looking to heat a small aquarium (I would say 7 gallons or less) I would highly recommend this heater. It's small enough to not be an eye sore and the external controls are a great included feature.

Works great, no issues. Heat up my 50 gal tank in a few hours. My old heater broke 2 days prior so the time this heater increased the temp in the tank was impressive. The set temp is correct to the degree.I am extremely happy with the purchase.

Easy to use up, down temperature. Hold both buttons for Celsius or Fahrenheit readings. Good buy for my small tank.
