Universally fits to any NOVA Chuck for maximum flexibility, saving money as duplicate accessories are not needed for different NOVA Chucks. The NOVA JS130N 130mm (5-Inch ) Chuck Accessory Jaw Set is designed to mount big bowls, up to 29-Inch in diameter. They are designed particularly for the expanded dovetail, reverse dovetail for gripping footed bowls. With a special NOVA wood turning dovetail profile, designed specifically for maximum strength and holding in wood turning, without crushing the wood fibers. These jaws will hold in both the contraction and the expansion modes. Precisely machined from a single solid piece of 1045 high tensile steel for precise closing, durability and long life. Comes with 4 jaw segments and instructions. Uses the standard fasteners that come with your NOVA Chuck. This is the next step in the series. They fit well like all the other NOVA accessories. I use them with the NOVA Titan Chuck but if you have a light piece of work that needs a really large datto tendon they will fit the NOVA G3 chucks as well, but they are made for large pieces and to be mounted on the heaver Titan Chuck.

The fit and finish is great. I have three different sizes of NOVA chucks. All of the jaws fit on all of the chucks flawlessly. None of them have been deformed, although I do push the limits on the size of my workpieces. When a blank does fly off of my lathe due to weaknesses in the wood or to my mistaken assessment, I have found out that it is never the chuck or the jaws that have failed.

These jaws have great holding power. The advantage is that you can use a much shorter recess or tenon with means less wasted wood! I love my Nova scroll chuck but keep in mind: Decide on a brand of scroll chuck and realize that that you have to stick with that brand because jaws are not interchangeable from one brand to another.

If you already have a Nova lathe and chuck, these are fine and do give a secure and reliable grip for large bowls. However, since Nova moved their manufacturing to China, there has been a noticeable deterioration in quality. Their older chucks used to be chrome plated and the jaws were black passivated. Now they are both plain mild steel and corrode very quickly if you use wet wood. The finish is also poor, with dents and scratches and sharp, unfinished edges. PLEASE round off the external corners before using them, or the slightest contact will remove the skin from your knuckles!Basically, they're OK if you are already committed to Nova, but otherwise, there are better quality chucks around for similar prices.Update 14/08/2015. I originally gave these 3 stars when I bought them However, I only paid £57 through Amazon. The current price of £124 is a complete rip-off. You can buy a complete chuck and 5 sets of jaws for that from Rutlands!
