Tried it for the first time today with a Min Kota motor and Old Town Saranac 146. Stable canoe and well made piece of gear. Sweet stuff. And we saw a bald eagle on our cruise.

If I only ever used this device, I would feel it works fine and does the job. I have a plastic canoe which I bought from Sams Club. The canoe is awesome and I love it; I think this device is for really solid or wooden canoes which don't flex. Since this only anchors on one side, it bends with the weight of the trolling motor allowing the blades to ding the side of the canoe from time to time. There is one out there made by Old Town canoes and it mounts all the way across BOTH SIDES of the canoe. My friend let me borrow that one and I used it once. It kept the trolling motor steady and very straight up/down the whole time. So I am going to purchase the Old Town Canoe one and use it. This is a cost effective option as the other will run me over a hundred dollars, but I think it will be well worth it in the long run.

I thought I was taking a chance on this canoe clip on motor mount but it works great. i would recommend it to anyone.

Only problem is the black dial as you can see is broken....if you could please send a replacement dial everything else is perfect.ThanksPLEASE JUST SEND THE KNOB....I WANNA GO FISHING

looks well built but doesn't fit my canoe. Will not fit pelican EXPLORER 14.6 DLX.
