These are great. I use these for snowboarding and they work really well. It's a little awkward when you first put them on but once you wear them around you totally forget about them. I have even worn them in the car on the long drive to the mountain so I didn't have to waste too much time putting on gear in the parking lot and I didn't even notice them on. They have plenty of padding which I need for the Ice Coast. It does make the falls hurt less. It's not gonna take away the pain completely if you fall hard. But it does make it more bearable. They already got me through some icy weekends in Vermont and New Hampshire this year. They also make those hard frozen chair lift seats a bit more comfortable. One thing to keep in mind if buying these, you'll want to get an upsized pair of bibs. They did not fit under my old large sized snowpants, couldn't button them closed because of the extra padding (no pun intended) so I had to switch to a set of x-large bibs. Which is totally fine, I actually like the bibs more. But if you get these you'll want to make sure they will fit under your snow clothing. And that's not a fault of the product by any means. Definitely a fan of these.

Saved my booty! Have 2 previous injuries from hard landings and these impact shorts prevented any new ones. My 21 year old son has a pair and he highly recommended them to me. At 54 years old, having the extra protection is invaluable!

As others have said, the butt pads go too low. I'm 6'0" tall and 235 pounds. I had to slice the fabric pocket holding the butt pads and cut the lower 2 inches of pad out. Now they can be worn without limiting my range of motion. Other than that they are well made and worth the money.

These are well made crash pads but the rear pads seem unnecessarily long, perhaps I am too short for these, but the bottom of the pad rubs against my upper thigh making it uncomfortable to walk. Maybe not a problem if snowboarding or skiing most of the day but uncomfortable nonetheless. This may be ideal for taller people that want more coverage. Will be looking for a different pair.

I kept falling and landing in the same place while snowboarding, but a lot of the products I could find online were for general sports use and did seem to have pads covering the right area for snowboarding, but this one is perfect. The pads are firm so they offer good protection, but the articulation in them makes this not feel too bulky. It still has that bit of diaper feel to them, but there's no way around that with padded shorts. Once it's under ski bibs or pants, you don't notice them at all, really. After falling without these and getting injured enough to sideline me for a month, I'm not boarding without them ever again.Heads up - the sizing is probably a size down from what you're used to. I'm 6'4", 230lb, and wear an XL in all other pants, but the L size of these fits me very well, maybe even a tad loose.

The padding on these shorts is very thick, and although seems restricting, is divided at points to allow for virtually the same range of movement as you would have without them. I prefer this to the 'one piece padding' approach many other padded shorts have adopted. You'll know they're there the entire time your in them, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. You'll still 'feel' the impact, but will likely walk away from 'contact' directly to the padded area(s) with ZERO damage to the protected area(s).The front is very breathable and the waste band is thick and very well made. There are small strips of 'rubber' around the inside of the leg openings that will help prevent 'roll up' while performing certain maneuvers/activities.I wish I had these last year when the gods ripped my bike out from under me at well over 40mph on a downhill run where I fractured my hip bone and tore some muscles (think grapefruit sized Seroma)... they would have prevented at least 70% of my injuries. All in all, these are very well made and should last many many miles.I hope this helps.

Don’t purchase this if you’re a woman, short, or curvy in any way. The padding is stiff and the appropriate parts of the protection will only go where they are supposed to go if you’re a standard sized male.

These padded shorts have ample padding and fit great, stretchy spandex type material contours to your body shape for an amazing fit, and plenty of padding to protect your bits and bobbles should you take a spill. The material is soft and lightweight and quite comfortable, and in the few minutes I had them on for the picture I noticed they were quite warm.I'm a little fella at 5'6 and 130 lb, I got the small and they fit perfect.Recommended!
