INSTALLATION GUIDE:
- 1. Match the intended thread repair kit.
- 2. Check the size on the tap and inserts.
- 3. Drill out the damaged bore or thread for the thread you are intended to restore(Drill tool NOT included)
- 4. Clean the hole with cleaning cloth, make sure no something is left in the hole.
- 5. Slightly run the tap into the hole, from the bottom tapered cutting edge, to the correct depth by hand or on a machine tool of 3/8"" square drive.
- 6. Clean the thread, ensuring no something is left in the hole.
- 7. Check the size of inserts, then screw in the threaded repair insert using the insertion tool.
- 8. Clean the thread and remove dust and debris.
- 9. You are ready to have a repaired thread.

I purchased a mower from an old guy who clearly cross-threated the spark plug. When I went to remove the spark plug It messed up the thread so bad that I could not even chase it with a spark plug thread chaser. That is where these little guys come into play, and they are phenomenal! I hooked the tab into my drill gently drove it into the spark plug hole with the paper towel on top of the piston to catch any clippings then threaded the helicoil in and bam!!! The Spark plug threaded right in and the mower is working better than ever! Best money I have ever spent! Thanks!!!
