I LOVE how the can opener locks onto the can, and the release button to take it off.It works SO much better than the typical 'regular' can openers of the same type. My friend, who recommended I buy this, told me that if I bought it, I wouldn't regret it. He was right.

Worst can opener. We had an older model from Oxo and loved it. The blade eventually got dull. This new model just doesn't work. I have to hack away at the can after I do what damage I can with the new Oxo.

This can opener functions perfectly and is sharp enough to cut through even thicker cans. The only con is that ot is made for a larger hand than I have as it is not very comfortable to use if you have a smaller grip.

This is the lightest, easiest, and most effective can opener I have ever used -- and I have purchased many over the years that were real disappointments (heavy, clunky, ineffective). I can even pop this one in the top-rack of the dishwasher and it never rusts -- even though handwashing is recommended. That's a big plus for me. I've read in some of the reviews that the opener does not effectively grab or stay attached to the can. That only happens to me when I do not make sure that the opener is absolutely horizontal to the can; if you try to attach it to the can on an angle, it will slip off, as would any can openser. I *love* the lock function on the handle -- so easy to use and effective every time.

I bought one of these about 10 yrs ago. Served me well. Tried another make..... straight to the bin !!!After receiving this, I remembered why I had spent so much on the original. Looking fwd to using this til 2035!! and beyond !

It opens cans but the "lock" isn't quite as you'd expect. It does click into place but then you do need to continually apply pressure to keep the handles together or the lock will immediately slip and you'll need to re-seat it on the can. That's fine though, and it's got nice ergonomics for the hand.
