Bought on Monday, received on Wednesday (which was yesterday), and installed the last night. Amazon Prime is very handy when you really need sth to be delivered quickly, as in my case. My old booster pump finally gave up after who-knows-how-many years of service (we bought the house not too long ago). I tried to replace the seals on the old pump and it did stop the water leakage but the pump's bearing may have been worn out because of the grease washed away but the leaking water, together with my lack of knowledge (see item 5 below). The package was well packaged and arrived in very good condition. All parts were included and the manufacturing date was 8/24/2013, just a month ago.A couple of things to share here for the installation (****If you are not qualified to do the electrical work, go find a qualified electrician!!****):1. 110v wiring: yes the pump supports both 110v and 220v. The default is 220v but it's fairly easy to change the wiring to use 110v. Unscrew the electrical panel on the back and you will see the wiring connectors and cables. All cables have different colors. There are 6 groups of connectors, with numbers engraved on the white plastic base. Not the easiest to see but with you should have no problem finding them with enough light. There is a wiring diagram on the piece of white paper on the side the pump, which shows the wiring for Low Voltage (a.k.a 110v) and High Voltage (a.k.a. 220v, which is default). I only need to change the connection of two wires to switch from 220v to 110v. Don't rush yourself on this and make sure you do it right. Wrong wiring could damage the pump right away.2. 110v AC power connection (***please remember this review is for 110v wiring only!!!): three wires need to be connected for 110v, black (hot), white (neutral), and green (ground). Connect black and white wires to connector 1 and 6 (doesn't really matter which one to which), and green to the green screw.3. Hose connection: the hose in the package is long enough in my case for both inlet and outlet connections. I don't like too much about the "Quick Connect" thing though. It was fairly hard to pull the sleeve over the hose so the clip can be snapped into the place. I managed to do it for two connections and decided to use the pump clamps for the rest two. The pump clamps are much easier to work with.4. Before first start: I unscrewed the drain plug on the volute (faceplate), this serves two purposes. First, you can make sure the water flow is correct by seeing the pool water coming out of the plug hole; second, the air in the loop and pump can be squeezed out. Replace the drain plug when you see water comes out.5. ***Lesson Learned***: as a first time pool owner I learned it the hard way. The booster pump should NOT be turned on unless the main filter pump is on, or else the booster pump will be damaged (likely in my case). One last thing I want to mention is the caring of the pump. The manual said the pump needs to be protected from rain and sun. I thought this is an outdoor pump?? Should I provide cover/shade to the pump or this is just a suggestion, not a requirement?

Awesome pump, arrived quickly as described with hose and four connectors. It is quiet and powerful.Installation - Awesome pump, arrived as described (in four days- free shipping) with quick connect hose which I cut into two parts one to supply water and one for return water line. I did not get hose clips to prevent hose from coming off during operation as some mentioned, however they weren't needed. I used pool & Spa Lube which is a silicone tube used for O-rings, gaskets and threaded parts. Place some of this silicone over the barbed ends of the four plastic connectors it came with for easy installation of the hoses then tighten down the plastic connectors onto hose.Electrical - the electrical is a ground screw and two other screws for the power. My set up had a wall switch on house with two wires on top screws of switch labeled load and the two screws on bottom of switch labeled line so I had a blue and red on top screws and a blue and red on bottom two screws coming from switch to pump. Just as info I do have a timer and wires from timer go to my switch for easy turn off to pump. The pump is prewired for 220 volts and if you want to make sure review the wire diagram itself located on the side of the pump where it will specify the wire colors going / connecting to certain numbers on the connector plate. Based on the diagram you can move the wires to other numbers to make the pump run on 110 volts. However it comes wired for 220 volts your circuit breaker will have two breakers connected to each other when turned off or on both with move to on / off position this is also an indicator that its a 220 volt going to timer and pump. Take pictures of wiring of old pump if you want, they may not match new pump, my old pump were alpha characters on the connectors the new pump are numbers. Remember there is no neutral white wire on 220 volts so it wont matter which wire is where as they're both supping power. This motor is brand new, I paid $250 in Jan 2015 what a bargain considering no shipping costs and no taxes. Local pool house wanted $360 for this motor.I also replaced my Polaris 360 with new bearings, belts and rubber tires and now the Polaris is hauling *ass all over the place climbing easily to the tiles and picking up all leaves at pool bottom with no problems. Trying to get our in-ground pool ready for summer. Hope this helps. Also you tube has a #1 channel titled - Swimming Pool Tips, Reviews & How To -MrDgvb1 some pool guy I believe based in California which shows you step by step any pool repair you can think of. I learned the pump install and Polaris bearings install on this site, I have no affiliation whatsoever just trying to make life easier for all of us Pool Do it Yourselfers.

I'm not sure how old our previous booster pump was since it was here when we moved into this house and most of the labels were faded, but it had definitely worn out its welcome at this house. When the old pump started sounding like banshees screaming at trick-or-treat guests on Halloween guests, I tried to look into repairing it. Unfortunately not only were the pipe fittings very fragile, the screws to access the electrical fittings sheared off, making it difficult to replace the access door. Since the the old pump had been operating in direct sun for too many years (providing shade is my next upgrade) causing it to operate poorly, I decided it was time to find a replacement and keep the old one as a backup after it is rebuilt as much as possible.Due to the harsh conditions of our current pool equipment, I wanted to ensure that I replace anything with high-quality parts (preferably with a decent warranty). This product appears to be an original/OEM part for Polaris, and it came with new replacement tubing and connections that were a vast improvement over my old ones. The only thing I had to go out and purchase was a new electrical conduit fitting since the old one was a thick rubber with a gasket that was not only difficult to remove but split along the fitting so it wouldn't be watertight against rain. I doubt this is the manufacturer's fault though, and rather the connector that was selected by the installer who put in the old pump.Overall I am very please with this booster pump that is much quieter than the old pump. It operates perfectly and my Polaris cleaner has never worked better.
