Size and kind of directed flow of hot air, for shrink tubing or where ever hot air is needed. It fits better on my hobby table than my large one and has the built in tip raiser to keep the hot tip off the bench. It has 2 speeds and also comes with a smaller concentrated tip (see picts) which works really good for me with shrink tube. I have not yet used the higher speed as the low works very well for my needs. I dont know this brand, but it was a good price, so I have no clue to it's longevity. I really like mine and I am sure there are tons of other uses for this heat gun (not hair) and I recommend it.

This thing is great in every way, except that once you attach the fine tip nozzle, and if you’ve used it for a few times, I think the heat makes it impossible to eventually remove the fine tip nozzle. That’s fine for me, but just keep that in mind. This thing works much better than a hairdryer, which is what I had been using before for my shrink bands. The heat is very precise.

I've been using this for SMD electronics and it works great. I haven't tried it on large ground planes but on the smaller stuff it works really well.
